Lagging Republican presidential candidate John McCain has rethought strategy attacking Democratic rival Hillary Rodham Clinton for her stance on the Iraq War in a speech Wednesday at a military prep school.

On Tuesday, McCain's campaign released excerpts of his speech at Camden Military Academy in which the Arizona senator accuses Clinton of indecisiveness, arguing that won't work for a post-Sept. 11 commander in chief.

"The Democratic front-runner wants to have it both ways when it comes to foreign policy. On the one hand, the New York senator voted for the Iraq War. On the other hand, she now opposes it—sort of," McCain says in the prepared remarks.

"On the one hand, she wants a firm deadline for retreat. But, on the other hand, she says we cannot abandon the nation to Iran's designs," the speech says.

"Senator Clinton, this is not the '90s," McCain says. "This is the post-September 11 world. The commander in chief does not enjoy the luxury to conduct our national security by means of triangulation."

The AP reports that McCain decided Wednesday not to deliver those remarks, according to Brooke Buchanan, McCain's spokeswoman.

"It has nothing to do with the content of the speech. It has to do with the with the venue," Buchanan said. "This isn't the appropriate venue for that."

Late Tuesday, McCain said he had not yet seen the remarks. "But I will look at them very carefully," he said.

Buchanan said while McCain had not seen the language in the speech about Clinton, he still planned to deliver the critique. She said Wednesday that he would not.

On Tuesday, the Clinton campaign said the two senators, both members of the Armed Services Committee, "have an honest disagreement on the war."

I just feel sorry for the voting public of the USA, they don't seem to have much choice no matter who they vote for they will get the same old crap, who are trying to outdo one another on who would be the best one to bomb the s--t out of Iran. It would appear that the lies told about Iraq will suffice for the same job on Iran. It's just a pity that Armadinijed has'nt got the bomb it would be the only thing that will protect is Country from those nutters in the White House. It worked for North Korea

We've been doing this since we threw out our colonial oppressors. You remember them, don't you?

These Presidents we scrape up managed to get the Declaration of Independence signed, sat and wrote a Constitution, built a transcontinental railroad, abolish slavery, win two world wars, win the cold war, build the Panama canal, and put a man on the moon.

Our system has one indisputable advantage: It weeds out the weak.

By god SP4, I agree with you (my that wasn't even that hard). This was accomplished through sacrafice, dissent, and always questioning authority.

Bush beat two very popular democrats who enjoyed huge advantages.

Al Gore ran AS vice president, which instantly puts him on every ballot in America. He had the full support of his party and a president we keep being told who was sooooo popular!

John Kerry had everything going for him and, honestly, would have won if he'd just shut up.

Bush wins because he hires good people, a sign of a very good leader, and listens to them. He is gracious, almost to a fault. He undermines his competition, without doing it in the press. He wins support in Congress even though they rail every day.

No, the weak were weeded out...twice!

are a weak, weak follower of George W. Brush. I don't know who you are or where you are; I know that your mentality, if equal to George's, is below the average Americans. Go suck a fattie.

SP4...while you stay on script of the right wing talking points, the first election was stolen, and he would not have been in the position of being elected without the help of his Supreme Court. He was elected the second time because they lied to the citizens of this country, scared them to death, and rule by fear. All of that is about to come to an end!
