HIV infected Miami Beach club promoter arrested

Miami Beach police are asking that women who had unprotected sex with a popular club promoter come forward; 22-year old Elidor Kersaint is HIV positive and knowingly spread the disease to his sex partners.
CBS4 reporter David Sutta reports that according to his MySpace page, Kersaint paints himself as a popular guy on the South Beach scene who works with some of the hottest clubs including Opium, Purvey, and Mansion.
But representatives from the Opium Group say Kersaint was not an employee, but he may have worked with any number of third party vendors they’ve contracted with in the past.
“I can unequivocally confirm that this individual is not an employee of the Opium Group,” said Opium Group representative Vanessa Menkes in a written statement to CBS4.
Sutta reports also on Kersaint’s MySpace page there are dozens of pictures of him posing with club going celebs, and countless pictures of him with half naked women.
But police say Kersaint had a dark secret.
“He carries a “pretty big stick” here in Miami Beach which is attractive for some people,” said Bobby Hernandez with the Miami Beach Police Department.
“Unfortunately he could have used that big stick, or attractiveness, to lure these women in to have sex with them and unbeknownst to them he has HIV.”
One woman told investigators she had sex with Kersaint on two occasions and he never told her he had HIV. Police fear there may be other women who had sex with Kersaint and are not aware that he was HIV positive. Miami Beach police are urging anyone who had a relationship with Kersaint to see a doctor and then contact police.
Kersaint, who has been locked up since last June, faces a minimum of five years in prison if convicted.

This guy should be locked up for good and make sure the key to his cell is flush down the toilet...and don't retrack your steps....my thoughts and prayers go out to the women who got infected by him....thats why 'women u should always make sure the man you sleep with is strapped, let him wear 2 condoms... its better to choke the meat then to be in a doctors office trying to figure out what you got ...and one thing for sure we shouldn't even sleep around...
every thing that shines doesn't mean its gold...and we should always remember...there is a killer out there and his name is AIDS...he doesn't care how you look or how much money you got or where you're from...his mission is only to destroy each and everyone of us so if you have respect for yourself and your family...guys always wear a condom,...women make sure he is wearing one... its like getting into a car...with seat belts u click it not to get a ticket...and a condom you should wear it to save it... it will add a few more years to your life...safe sex is always the answer...men remember there are women out there that are doing the same thing that this Kersaint guy did...so be careful...and cherish life that god gave us...and always... always be true to the game....
This situation is like a double-sided knife. I don't think he'll be convicted. I'm not in agreement with his actions nor do i condone him for 'homicide'. His partners were all consenting adults and they too should have taking the measurements to protecting themselves. Really, if you had a daughter that slept with this guy, I bet there will be some anger in you for your daughter's actions and of course for this guy but REGARDLESS, casual sex should be done with protection. I pray for those women who are at the risk of having contracted virus... And also for the promoter for what awaits him in the future.

This is a very unfortunate situation and this Jerk needs to be locked up for good! I had seen him in the club scene countless number of times, but never thought he was hiding that secret.I have seen his myspace page and the guy was the biggest slut. The girls he slept with were probably just as big sluts as he was but that in no way makes what he did correct. Guys, if you're in Miami, be careful what girl you take home after a night of partying.....they just might have been with this douche!

I agree that you should always use protection, but when a person purposefully does something like he did, he should be punished severely for it. To knowingly spread something that kills should definitely be considered attempted murder. That's like knowing you have the bird flu, and purposefully sneezing in your date's face, or drinking from their glass and not letting them know that you're sick with something. You just don't expose someone to something that deadly. Not unless you're a murderous sociopath that is.
I believe the 'pretty big stick' comment was a metaphor for him having perceived power and access and priviledge. Granted, he was not the best looking dude (in my honest opinion), but I think most of the women simply got with him because they thought that he could get them access to real stars and celebrities. I don't think it's just people in Miami you have to worry about; it's everywhere. There are so many people walking around out there with HIV and full blown AIDS that don't even know it. Our society is so loose and we are living in a time where girls will let multiple dudes run trains on them and all sorts of craziness, so this doesn't surprise me much.
Was he wrong for doing what he did? Yes. Is it completely his fault? No. They were all responsible for taking care of themselves. Now, if you want to let a dude you just met run up in you raw, then you must live with the consequences.

The girls are learning a tough lesson - don't have sex with a stranger without a condom!! If you are going to date a guy and you want to lose the condoms then you go get a test together and you get one every 3 mos until you get married and perhaps even then if the guy is a player from South Beach you still use a condom. Duh! How stupid are the girls? Sorry but it's the girl's fault for being sooo stupid-- yes it is.
