Search on for skydiving plane: 10 missing
Oct 8, 2007, 21:51 GMT
San Francisco - A huge search was launched Monday for a skydiving plane that went missing with 10 people aboard, authorities said.
The Cessna Caravan was on a flight from a skydiving competition in Boise, Idaho to Shelton, Washington when it disappeared from radar screens.
Eight aircraft, including two helicopters and 50 volunteers, were searching near the Tieton River valley in central Washington's Cascade Mountains, where the plane was last observed.
A hunter in the area reported seeing a low-flying plane and a possible crash, said Nisha Marvel, a spokeswoman for the Washington Department of Transportation.
