Seven university students dead in US fire

Washington - Seven young people, most likely university students, were killed in a beach house fire early Sunday morning along the coast of North Carolina, a local newspaper reported.
The house had been occupied by more than a dozen people, many of them University of South Carolina students, the State newspaper in Columbia, South Carolina, reported.
Several other occupants were sent to hospital. The private beach home, which was totally destroyed, belonged to the parents of a student who had taken her friends there.
The newspaper said that some of the victims appeared to have been members of a college sorority at the University of South Carolina.
