As has been crytal clear the last 24 hours, it is no longer a matter of "what" -- will there be a strike? -- but simply "when."
As writer Nikke Finke reports on her blog -- and moments later, confirmed in an AP wire story -- the writers meeting at LA Convention's center erupted in cheers when union President Patric Verrone announced that a walkout would now take place.
Picket lines could be operative as early as Friday morning, though the Variety webpage reports from its sources that Monday is more likely.
No one, of course, has the faintest idea how long this plunge over the cliff will last.
