Agreed,for too long have smear tactics been an attribute of presidential campaigns used by you know who.Best leave them to SP4 .He knows nothing else.

First: is Shaheen sorry for saying his comments, or, is he sorry for HAVING TO say those comments?
Second: He did the honorable thing by resigning as soon as he felt that he would/could be a liability to the campaign.
Third: Why didn't these questions come up when Obama was being elected for the Senate? Why shouldn't the senators meet the same standards as the presidents?

George Stephanopolis - Now this is my favorite: I was drinking with a guy who calls on defense contractor 'consultants' in D.C. Back in the 90's, I asked him why Ol George Steph left and his reply was 'well, one thing that will get you fired is cruising Georgetown U on a Friday night, trying to pick up coeds in a White House Limo while packing your nose with blow...'.

Now if the President was carter, I'd be skeptical but...
