Newspaper poll shows Barack Obama in front ahead of Iowa caucus
Jan 1, 2008, 16:28 GMT
Washington - Senator Barack Obama has taken the lead in an opinion poll published in Tuesday's Des Moines Register ahead of the Iowa state caucus to select a candidate from the Democratic Party for this year's US presidential election.
Obama can expect 32 per cent of the votes in the Iowa caucus, the newspaper reported, while current favourite Senator Hillary Clinton would garner 25 per cent and third place ex-senator John Edwards 24 per cent.
The caucus on Thursday in the land-locked state of 3 million inhabitants marks the start of the primary and caucus marathon leading to the presidential election.

The news organizations still seek to shape public opinion.
Just watch Fox News (aka Faux News) ...
They work 24/7 to spin things to the political right and slam all others... just like YOU.
I'll subscribe to that with pleasure, nobody spins fairy tales like SP4 ,always in for some light entertainment
You guys actully watch Fox?
Whats that like?
A lot of young people are going to vote for Obama, and it's been reported a lot of Republicans (SP4?) are going to vote for him too. Not so sure how he is going to do in the South, but he is impressive!
...what is so impressive about him, outside of the fact that he seems to be giving Hirrary fits??
Apparently he's impressed a lot of people - he won in Iowa. He comes off as extremely intelligent, something that has been sorely lacking in the last two terms of presidency, but no one really needs to answer to you, old man! There was a big showing of young people in the caucases, and they clearly favored Obama and his message for a better government. It's time for a younger President with fresh ideas.
