Washington - Senators Hillary Clinton and John McCain were projected to win New Jersey in their parties' presidential primaries Tuesday, according to television network projections based on exit polls.
McCain was projected to win all 52 delegates up for grabs in the winner-take-all Republican Party contest, gaining 55 per cent of the vote with half the precincts reporting. Nearest rival Mitt Romney, a former Massachusetts governor, was receiving 28 per cent.
Clinton, who represents neighbouring New York in the US Senate, had garnered 55 per cent of the Democratic Party vote over rival Barack Obama with 43 per cent.
There were 127 delegates up for grabs on the Democrat side, which divides delegates proportionally in each state.
