UN Human Rights Council acts on Israel, Darfur but not Tibet

Geneva - The UN Human Rights Council was due to end its session on Friday, failing to take action on Tibet.
The council, widely regarded a toothless institution, faced heavy criticism for not recommending any special action over human rights violations in Tibet.
Violence erupted in the Chinese-occupied province on March 10 when Chinese authorities moved in to break up pro-independence demonstrations as the 47 member states of the Human Rights Council were holding their session in Geneva.
European countries, supported by Australia, Switzerland and the United States, raised the topic but the debate was abandoned amid Chinese protests.
Several non-governmental organizations pushed the council to hold a special session on Tibet but failed to secure the necessary support of one third of the council's member states.
During its four-week session the council passed a resolution put forward by the Organization of Islamic States over recent Israeli action in the Gaza Strip, censuring Israel for the fourth time since it was set up two years ago.
The European states abstained saying a more balanced resolution was needed taking into account Palestinian actions.
The UN body also expressed its 'deep concern' at the ongoing violations of human rights in parts of Darfur, planning a review at its next regular session in September.
It narrowly adopted a resolution, backed by Europe, deploring the 'grave' human rights situation in North Korea. China and Russia voted against the resolution.

I want to be clear here you donate to the UN groups that are not tainted?
Or are you saying you donate to groups who do not belong to the UN?
It stands as an ironclad example of what would happen if we ever gave up our sovereignty.
We would then take orders from these corrupt out-of-control little nations, who constantly advocate wealth redistribution. Their anti-Semitic, tribal instincts would now dominate world politics.
People like Kofi Annan would now be unchecked. International law, a oxymoron, would be foisted upon us at every turn.
Unresolved tragedies like the Congo, and Darfur would be the norm all over the globe.
No, the UN shows us what the world would be like, so keep doing whatever you are doing. They provide he example of what we should never agree to.

We, the U.S., should stand up for the Tibetan people and show the world that we are the true leader of freedom and democracy. We at the very least should re-open the CIA military training camp for the Dalai Lama's resistance fighters at Camp Hale near Leadville, Colorado.
We can ask Japanese to financially support the Free Tibet operation. Dalai Lama loves Japanese people. He endorsed a Japanese spiritual movement, 'Aum Shinrikyo', in 1980's-1990's.
We can also ask Germany for some substantial support from Europe. Germans had deep connections with Tibet in 1930's and 1940's. Dalai Lama's tutor in 1940's was Heinrich Harrer, a member of the 'Schutzstaffel'. These people are closely linked together. We can form a huge coalition force for sure to change Tibet back to Shangri-La.

Free Tibet!
If these chuckeheads object to intervention in Iraq and Darfur, how much support will there be for some place like Tibet?

This is ridiculous really. Everyone that posts on this website, bashing the United Nations, is rude and ignorant. The United Nations does the best they can, so poster need to watch what they say
