Obama and Clinton meeting in Washington DC
Jun 6, 2008, 2:17 GMT
Washington - Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama was meeting Thursday night with Senator Hillary Clinton in Wahington DC, according to CNN.
Obama was scheduled to fly home to Illinois Thursday and did not arrive for his flight out of Dulles International Airportand instead made a stop at Clinton's Washington DC home, CNN reported.
Clinton's campaign said earlier Thursday that the senator has no plans to be Barack Obama's vice president on a Democratic ticket for the White House.
Phil Singer, a Clinton spokesman, said the former first lady was 'not seeking the vice presidency,' in a statement carried by CNN.
However, Clinton had previously said she was 'open' to the idea and some of her supporters have launched a concerted effort to pressure Obama into putting her on a so-called 'dream ticket.'
Singer said the decision was Obama's to make, echoing comments by the newly-anointed Democratic nominee himself.
'I'm a big believer in making decisions well, not making them fast and not responding to pressure,' Obama said in an interview with CNN.
Obama declared victory in the Democratic presidential nomination Tuesday night after a five-month battle with Hillary Clinton, becoming the first African American to lead a major political party into a general election in the United States.
Clinton is expected to formally suspend her campaign and endorse Obama at an event in Washington on Saturday.

Whoa! Obama went out of his way to go see Hillary at HER house? Holy Shatner, Batman! I wonder what she go her hands on? It must've been a luv thing, or sumthin'!
dream team, you mean nightmare team
I've never voted in any election any way but Democrat. If Osama does not publicly ask Hillary to be VP then this election, for the first time in my life, I will vote Republican.
If he teams up with Hillary's worthless history, I will vote for the other party! There are many reasons Hillary did not beat Obama, and those are the reasons I voted against her. If he teams up with her, I will be forced to vote for the dinosaur.
I am a person that votes on principle and policy, not on party. I like to think fellow Democrats would do the same. For those who rather vote for McCain because their candidate didn't win, then I say let them. We don't need you in our party. I rather lose every election and vote on principle, than sacrifice what I stand for over a temper tantrum. So they can vote for McCain all they want, and when he wins, and takes us spiraling down even further, they better not whine and ask why. I am a two war veteran, who supported Obama, but would have just as easily supported Hillary. So you whiners can pick up your ball and go home, because this is our (Democrats) court.
the only way out for all USA folks is a thrid party, the people that ran bill ran george and own obama and oh yes mccain (almost forgot he was running. the USA will become a philly, clevland and another 100 cities or so that have been run by the dem's for fify years (philly sixty since a rep. mayor), one big tax guzzling, rotten schools, crime/drug infested hell hole, third world here we come. After Obama's election every 'give me mine' group in the country will crawl out from the worm hole and demand their gime or we will be oh so disappointed and you know what happens when we is disappointed, don't yea. Peace McD
I agree. It just shows how childish these people are. I have much more respect for the people who vote for McCain for his policies.
Clinton needs to be Obama's running mate. If this happened less people would sit out of the vote or vote for McCain out of spite for not getting the chance to vote for their candidate. I believe Obama is the best candidate for the presidency because he is the least likely to continue meddling in the middle east, a practice this country cannot afford to continue.
After reading the comments above mine I remembered why I study physics and not politics, some people defy logic!
So the word is that McCain is wooing Clinton supporters and some may be interested - good luck with that. In the end, there is no way he is going to convince us to vote for someone who:
1.) Thinks the war in IRAQ is going really well.
2.) Thinks the war in IRAQ is going so well, war with IRAN might be worth a try.
3.) Supports war so much he does not think there is money left over to help GI's with education after the military - this REALLY irks me.
4.) Is adamantly against universal health care.
5.) Still believes that trickle-down economics will save us all.
6.) Supports CORPORATE welfare while being against social programs.
7.) Is for FAIR TRADE, but does not support FAIR COMPETITION (Trade, Labor Standards, Living Wages).
8.) SAYS he is against torture, then VOTES to allow water-boarding (torture).
9.) SAYS he is a world apart from Bush, but VOTES with Bush 95+% of the time.
10.) Can't think of good reasons for anyone to vote for him, but hey, maybe a mission to Mars will entice them.
Am I voting Obama? You'd better believe it.
everyone voting for McCain..i hope your able to be drafted..because this fossil will without a doubt start a war with Iran..just like bush ..started one with Iraq by lying to the American people..bush has 4,100 dead soldiers and 30,000 kids coming home with no arms legs..McCain will tell you Iran is so close to nukes and this threatens the united states..but in the same breath he'll say Israel also..in fact Iran ..if it ever got nukes is no threat to the united states at all but to the welfare state of Israel..that McCain wants you to think is our Allie..were was Israel in Vietnam..was it the Israeli army that got McCain out of the Hanoi Hilton..are they fighting with us in afghanistan or Iraq...attacked 9/11 because of Israel..Israel killing women and children in Palestine and Lebanon..America..Israel ..always in the same sentence you ever hear from bush and McCain..your bring brainwashed..
Iran is going to start the war. Are all the Democrats this oblivious?
vote for Obama. Look at his past and tell me he's not a racist, lying terrorist. Be verrrrry careful what you wish for.
The White House will become the Black House
The Lincoln Room will become the Malcolm X Room
Rap music would fill the halls of the presidential residence
Martin Luther King Day will become a mandatory holiday for you white f-ers
Vote for Obama, I will!
I am going to have my property confiscated because when the obamatards see me all they can possibly see is a racist cracker who should be shaken down to provide for them; but that's OK because I will have 'free' socialized medicine.
So I will be living in the street, but I will have my depends undergarments and denture adhesive provided to me at 'no cost' by the obama-messiah.
Hallelujah!
Very funny, Bubba. Ha-ha. Very funny.
Oh, and be sure to vote for the HONEST leftist! Vote Obama.

So the word is that McCain is wooing Clinton supporters and some may be interested - good luck with that. In the end, there is no way he is going to convince us to vote for someone who:
1.) Thinks the war in IRAQ is going really well.
sp4 - even the liberal press is now admitting it. In article after article, they, begrudgingly are stating the facts.
But, hey Brian, only John MCCain has BEEN THERE! Besides, Hillary has too!
2.) Thinks the war in IRAQ is going so well, war with IRAN might be worth a try.
sp4 - he's never said anything like that, then again, he isn't taking orders from them like Barack...
3.) Supports war so much he does not think there is money left over to help GI's with education after the military - this REALLY irks me.
sp4 - those things already exist. This is him keeping dem promises for you to be fiscally responsible about funded bills i.e. paygo, while the dems themselves pass unfinded 300 billion dollar bills for rich farmer welfare.
4.) Is adamantly against universal health care.
sp4 - he's against nationalizing health care.
5.) Still believes that trickle-down economics will save us all.
sp4 - it's called supply-side econ, and it has produced the most productive decades in American history. It's the dems that have hurt us, stifling domestic enegy production and raising your gas prices.
6.) Supports CORPORATE welfare while being against social programs.
sp4 - actually, has railed against corporate welfare and put his money where his mouth is on earmarks, instead of passing unfunded 300 billion dollar dem agri-pork for rich farmers, like the democrats just did.
7.) Is for FAIR TRADE, but does not support FAIR COMPETITION (Trade, Labor Standards, Living Wages).
sp4 - gobbledegook. You're not living in your grandaddy's world Brian. Time to grow up: every nation is making free trade deals now, with someone.
By the way, it was the Clintons, who passed NAFTA, GATT, WTO and sold influence for money to give China MFN status, not the republicans. Go see Hillary. No wonder you dumped her.
8.) SAYS he is against torture, then VOTES to allow water-boarding (torture).
sp4 - he's an expert on what is torture, so he knows more about it than useless libnazis. Besides, we waterboard our own spec ops boys, so it is NOT torture.
9.) SAYS he is a world apart from Bush, but VOTES with Bush 95+% of the time.
sp4 - he has bucked Bush for 7 years, sinking the Airforce refueling contract and getting it re-bid, on McCain-Feingold, co-sponsored Cap-and-trade with BARACK OBAMA!...and much more. Nonetheless, he is a Republican, eiven if it is in name only.
10.) Can't think of good reasons for anyone to vote for him, but hey, maybe a mission to Mars will entice them.
sp4 - he'd ask about the benefit first
Am I voting Obama? You'd better believe it.
sp4 - of course you are. He's cute and popular and you like him, never mind his corporate ties to BIG Coal, his bargain house with a convicted Mobster felon, Tony'the knife'Rezko, etc. Heck, even Ralph Nader called him 'the dems corporate candidate!'.
You, like most of your bigoted libnazi buddies, simply have no objectivity when it comes to politicians, Brian. You treat politics like a religion, because libnazis had to invent a new religion, as they rejected the old one's. Now, you worship Obama:
He is the libnazi-atheist's golden Calf, their Virgin figure, untainted by politics, unless you consider his house, or his ties to Big coal (heh, heh, heh).
Inform yourself. Then, if you want Obama, fine.
Please SP4, DOM't make super long comments, NO ONE READS THEM!!!
...YOU read them..
...weren't you the dick who was just commenting on free speech?
Clinnie-in-the-Binnie, just wanted to crack a few jokes over a pink Champagne. Here are three of them.
A black walks into a bar with a parrot on his shoulder. The bartender looks up and says, 'Where the hell did you get that thing from?'
'The parrot replied, 'Over in Africa, There are millions of them over there!'
How do you save a black from drowning?
Take your foot off his head!
Why do blacks have flat noses?
That's where god put his feet when he was pulling off their tails!
I DO understand why you study physics and not politics....
As a third generation Orange County CA native I was born into a very Republican family, it seemed my birth right to be republican, but wake up my American peers, my real estate biz is now in the toliet, as well as my money, I can hardly give away my Suv due to the almost 5.00 a gallon gas prices, I am 48 years old, buisness are shutting down, crime is up, in my little sleepy town, my world as I know it has sunk like the titanic, all due to the ego and greed of George Bush... dont kid your self, he does not give a damn about his so called {good ol american folks} he only cares about his good ol boys... he has lied and deceived us all, America dollar is the same as canadian money, how sad is that! remember how ticked off you felt when you accidentally got stuck with canandian dime? that is how Europe feels about our currency, and if you have your doubts about Obama, and you vote for the very out of date thinking duranged mind of Mc Cain, we can continue to stay in this worthless war, making more and more international enemies and wait for China to call in their notes which we can not pay, in the meantime we will pay 8.00 a gallon for gas or more, set your personal issues aside and think about your bank account please!
Is 'Black Future' brain dead? He needs to wipe the slime off of him from the hole he crawled out of. If McCain is elected we will probably go back to the draft since he's so taken with war. And what makes anyone think Iran is waiting to start a war with the U.S.? And just how far can they get, oh you of the brilliant mind!
