Low profile Republican gives up White House chase

Jun 13, 2008, 3:47 GMT

Washington - Ron Paul, 72, the conservative Republican, physician and libertarian who barely registered in the media spotlight, Thursday night ended his bid for the party's presidential nomination.

Paul's presence on the political scene was hugely overshadowed by the earlyh lead taken by Senator John McCain in sealing the presumptive Republican Party nomination for the presidency.

In a letter to his supporters posted on a new website, Ron Paul's Campaign for Liberty, the candidate said his message had found strong echo in the US electorate.

He said he planned to continue his message by designing 'materials for home-schoolers' - parents who teach their children at hime - with the help of his supporters, and to build a precinct network to 'make our presence felt at every level of government.'

He said it was 'the most ambitious venture' of his political career.

He said he and the delegates he won during the primary contests would make their presence felt at the formal Republican nominating convention in St. Paul, Minnesota, in early September, where he plans to hold a massive rally outside of the formal proceedings.

When we all are living in a total police state (getting close to it now), and all of the rest of our freedoms are taken away (getting close to that too), you are going to wish that THAT 'CRACKPOT' was not shut out of the mainstream media like he was and could have swept the presidency, which he would have done easily if our biased media wouldn't have screwed him like they did! You are so going to regret not fighting for the only one who was out there fighting for our freedoms! Now go watch your tv and blissfully-ignorantly accept what they spoon-feed you!

Go Already, What a looser, wouldn't know right from wrong. He exemplifies the American dream gone wrong. Him and all the worthless politicians in around the country. We need to get rid of them all and not vote for anyone that doesn't carry around a copy of the Constitution of the United States. Of course they will have to be able to read. They should be able to do that as they would have graduated before the governments 'No Child left Behind'. Which is responsible for all the kids that can't read today and drop out every 26 seconds. What a legacy our leaders have left us.

The pied piper of misfits calls it a day. LOL!Jun 13th, 2008 - 05:16:18

LOL! Such sweet, sweet paulbot frustration... Tell us more about the 'only man that can save America' or perhaps a psyco-babble screed about fire not melting steel.

Please illuminate how we are all headed to the concentration camps now that Ron took your money and went on home. Better yet, go flood some online poll in memorial.

Here, this ought to keep you away from sharp objects for a while, go to:

www.misterpoll.com

...and create an online poll with one of your screwy internet Ron Paul fantasies. Something like: 'Should Ron Paul come on a golden winged steed and anoint me with his beautiful aura thereby saving me from a life of sitting in a basement apartment, playing x-box and eating macaroni and cheese on a couch that smells like pee.' Yes or no?

And you can sit at your computers pressing the 'yes' button until your eyeballs roll out. What FUN! You can flood your little Ron Paul poll 'til rapture with all your loving Ron Paul craziness.

Oh my God this is too f-ing funny.

Hooray for funny and irrational ad hominem attacks! Now this is the kind of political discourse I'm used to. Forget talking about the issues or about the proper role of government, instead lets make fun of people!

All that talk about personal choice, limited government and individual sovereignty is just too boring. Calling people names and coming up with creative ways to mock them just so I can feel better about myself is much more worthwhile AND entertaining! Not to mention sane and healthy!

Dr. Paul may not be 'the only man who can save America', but his political philosophy IS the only way America can stay great and become even greater.

So here we are, the choice once again is Obama and McCain (Socialist and Fascist 'based on voting records and campaign rhetoric'). All of you who laugh and spit at the Constitution... thanks. You continue to vote in the worst of the possible choices.

I suppose you feel proud of yourselves. hmmm?

You who defend democracy, who promote socialism, who savor the agression of preemptive war and whose minds are so programmed and void of history. You are the destruction of our nation.

You had an opprtunity to upright our great country, instead you continue to vomit upon the rights we fight so hard to defend.

Most of you are so dumbed down, you don't even comprehend what I speak of.

We will soon face the most trying times. Our economy will collapse due to overt military spending or unconstitutional social programs. Perhaps then you will wake up.

Lost, sleeping masses... You truly sicken me. The police state is approaching, food rationing is coming soon, no place will be a safe harbor. Even now, after Dr. Paul bowed out, you still feel the need to kick him? Foul jerks, you sit there spewing your words into the comment box insulting a man who has served his country faithfully, honorably, how is it that you can judge him as a kook when you have not served as well your nation?

You make it very hard for me to do my job. Support and Defend the Constitution. Democracy is death to Liberty.

Long live the Republic.

'All of you who laugh and spit at the Constitution... thanks.'

I can assure you that I would NEVER spit at the constitution. I can also assure you that the moonbats that you run with wouldn't know the preamble from a box of egg noodles and the Bill of Rights from a pork chop. Ron was a cult of personality who attracted the people who couldn't get prom dates in high school and who got waaaay too caught up in the X-files.

'You who defend democracy... are the destruction of our nation.'

That pretty much says it all on behalf of Ron Paul doesn't it? Some of us like to have a say in government. That is what the first 3 words of that thing that wou keep bringing up signify: We The People...

' who promote socialism, who savor the agression[sic] of preemptive war and whose minds are so programmed and void of history. '

I just love the arrogance of moonbats. Indeed, it is too bad I didn't defend my country from the lack of historical context by skewing online polls...

'Most of you are so dumbed down, you don't even comprehend what I speak of.'

I just love it! Tell us more about how smart you are for hopping on the crackpot express!

'We will soon face the most trying times. '

Well then, we have some work to do, don't we? Thankfully we wont have the crackpot in chief and his merry band of misfits making the situation worse.

'Lost, sleeping masses... You truly sicken me. The police state is approaching, food rationing is coming soon, no place will be a safe harbor.'

Nope, nothing nutty there. A bunch of white supremacists, 9/11 truthers and 40 something virgins were our last hope. Next stop, the police state.

'Foul jerks, you sit there spewing your words into the comment box insulting a man who has served his country faithfully, honorably, how is it that you can judge him as a kook when you have not served as well your nation?'

You need to get a pulpit to better cast your wrath and scorn down upon us untermensch. Woe be upon us for not being swayed out of our stupor by the comical hyperbole of the paulbots.

'Democracy is death to Liberty.'

Better to just make Ron Paul King, eh? The funny thing is that you claim to have read the constitution. Or perhaps you do not understand that a Republic can be democratic. Perhaps you are a wackjob.

'Long live the Republic.'

Indeed.

If, on the off chance that is true, thank you for your service. Would it lend more legitimacy to my arguments if I signed them with my former rank?

Perhaps some are insensitive. Ron Paul gave many people a choice. Having made their choice, I respect them for it. As for the comments, no one ever salved my sensibilities over my favorites, so I doubt you're going to be spared either. Perhaps we do make it hard for you to do your job, but certainly not because someone lampoons a candidate.

No, Ron Paul gave some a choice and that is enough. True, I am as unhappy as anyone with the choices we now have, but they are our choices and I believe in our system. So should you.

Ron Paul is such a crazy old man. I mean just imagine someone running for president who says we should follow our Constitution, and not just pay lip service to it when it is politically expedient to do so. We simply cannot allow someone like that to sit in the oval office.

The nerve of him to say we should end a war that is unconstitutional, illegal, was based upon lies, and has no end in sight. What a wacko! We can't feel patriotic unless we can have our leaders on television, telling us how many brown people were killed today. After all, they hate us for our freedoms. So grab your flags and shut up, citizen

To think that he actually believes we should stop locking up sick people who seek relief in medical marijuana. That is just insane! Doesn't he know that marijuana is a plant?! He acts as though he believes people's bodies are their own.

We should elect someone who doesn't want to follow that old document, the Constitution. Let that thing just be a tourist attraction sitting behind glass and bronze.

We should pick someone like Barack Obama or John McCain. That way all of the problems the country is in can be ignored, and those two clowns can continue trying to offer solutions that caused most of those problems to begin with. But hey, either way with those two, we got one who can make a hell of a speech. And the other thinks we are all his friend.
