And by the way SP4, it is us Dems that are trying to clean up the mess you Repubs made. The payoffs to the Repubs during their rein caused the lack of oversight and thus caused the problem. Bush is only signing it because he wants to put the issue to bed and maybe creats some sort of legacy---or in fact solidify the lack of it.

I find it disgusting wehn thee average joe buying a house is compared to somebody buying a lottery ticket.That kind of comparing makes absolutely no sense .And it is supposed to come from somebody defending family values ?When average people buy a house they are trying to get security for their families ,create an asset that they will likely pass to what they love most:teir children .Not everybody is rich enough to look at real estate as a source of investment to buy and sell real estate .That is for a small minority of people that spoil the market,for them a home is nothing more than a lucrative business ..this market should have been regulated a long time ago to prevent real estate investors to make enormous profits on the back of the average joe .Of course the consequences of failing to secure tight rules for the market are now for the government to be solved.Republicans don't like that,nobody does in fact .I guess there could be a simple solution to make sure that those that reaped all the profits and left taxpayers with the bill ,paythe expenses for the salvation of the average joe .Tax high revenue real estate poperties sufficiently to finance that .Simple and easy .Also introduce cheap mortgages for the poorest parts of your citizens .Large families with lots of children and only a small income should always have morgag security for their first property.It would be so easy to implement laws that make it easier for the average joe to aquire a decent home for his family,building of social houses is another one we have here too.The state agencies acting like a property developper can build cheaply if planning according modular standards,introducing energy saving modes in construction ,making it cheaper for most of you all .Now guess who would be opposed to those constructive measures so to speak?Indeed none other than the same republicans and their investing tycoons .For them you buying a house is similar as you going to Las Vegas .Tat says it all for me,no hope as long as they are in power .They'll just leave the profit for the tycoons and when things go wrong the taxpayer will fill the hole without any conditions to be added.

First of all let me make it straight to you foggy headed socialists out there. While there were some fradulant loans made to people out there a majority of them were done on the up and up. The cold hard facts is that people were too stupid or dumb to figure out what THEY signed. Its a contract stupid. If you don't understand the fine print you pay an attorney a few hundred bucks to look it over and explain everything to you. If you don't have the few hundred bucks to have an attorney examine it you have no business borrowing hundreds of thousands of dollars which could put you, your family, the economy and the taxpayers at risk and that is just what happened. Here, I'll give the cold hard facts to you; everyone should not own a home because not everyone can afford it. Its a fact of life you socialists don't want to face and there were millions of them that had no business buying a home. They had no safety net but they wanted that house come high or hell water. I am involved in the real estate appraising industry and I saw people by the thousands over the past 8 years using their homes as ATM machines to buy all sorts of goodies like boats, trailers, rvs, exotic pools and spa, exotic vacations, cusomt upgrades and the list could go on an on. Now they are in trouble and in hock over their eyeballs. Many and I say many have just walkked away form their homes, trashing them in the process, stealing everything inside. I am just one appraiser, I have dozens of peers in my industry who are finding out the same thing, I am on forums for my industry and I am hearing the same from appraisers all over the country and the government wants to bailout these people. No way in hell. This is why our founders were so far above our current leaders in intellegence its not even funny. They never meant for government to be a big tit, they left the king and came here for self rule.
Anybody with his heart in the right place knows a home is part of basic rights for all,no family can exist out in the open air,whatever above real estate idiot says .So everybody should be entitled to his won house ,plain and simple .If some used their house as ATMmachine,of course they were foolish.But who stimulated that situation ?The very same banks,insurance companies and real estate agents that now are weeping over the consequences of their unethical conduct of affairs,as demonstrated by the person above .I bet he never refused a loan or a service to a potential cutomer on account that he doesn'twant to make money from a so called socialist parasyte .But now that the market has collapsed due lack of regulations the banks are bailing out and leave you,taxpayers,with the bill .The vitim has to pay for his own execution .It could be so simple:seize the assets of the tycoons that are responsible for the present crisis ,regulate business toavoid this crisis from ever happening again,and by all means ,on't listen to those that tell you it is perfectly acceptable to evict families from their home and go camp out in the wild .What kind of atitude is that ?Unworthy of civilized society .
