13 dead in Texas bus crash (1st Lead)

Washington - At least 13 people were killed and 34 injured - some seriously - Friday when a chartered bus went off a bridge in the US state of Texas and crashed, US media reported.
The accident occurred around 12:45 am (0545 GMT) when the bus carrying 55 church members from Houston, Texas to a fair in the state of Missouri crashed around 100 kilometres north of Dallas, US broadcaster CNN reported.
The accident may have been caused by a blown tire, CNN reported citing law enforcement officials at the scene.
According to the report, 11 helicopters and a number of ambulances were used to transfer the injured to hospital.
