Washington - Democratic presidential hopeful Barack Obama has chosen veteran Delaware Senator Joe Biden as his pick for vice president, the campaign confirmed early Saturday in a text message sent to supporters.

The announcement ended weeks of speculation over which of a handful of likely politicians would get the nod. US media broke the story only about three hours before the official message was sent out, a sign of just how closely guarded Obama's campaign had managed to keep the secret.

The Obama-Biden Democratic ticket was to make its first public appearance at a Saturday afternoon rally in Springfield, Illinois, where Obama got his political start in the state house and launched his presidential bid last year.

Biden, 65, is a longtime senator from Delaware and chairman of the upper house's Foreign Relations Committee. He is an old hand at international relations who travelled to Georgia this month in the middle of the country's conflict with Russia, and will likely appeal to voters sceptical of Obama's foreign affairs credentials.

But Biden will come under fire for some comments made about Obama during his own brief presidential run this year. Biden questioned whether the 47-year-old Illinois senator was experienced enough, arguing the presidency was not 'on-the-job training.'

'There has been no harsher critic of Barack Obama's lack of experience than Joe Biden,' said Ben Porritt, a spokesman for Republican rival John McCain, in the campaign's first official reaction.

The Democrats gather at their party convention in Denver, Colorado, beginning Monday to formally nominate Obama. Biden, if he is the vice president, is slated to speak Wednesday night.

Speculation over who would be Obama's running mate had reached a feverish pitch Friday night. Broadcaster CNN even showed live shots of several of the likely candidates' homes in hopes of some sort of clue.

The rumour mill now turns to McCain, who is expected to announce his own running mate on Friday, just days before the Republican Party convention begins on September 1 in St Paul, Minnesota.

Likely candidates for McCain include Mitt Romney, a former Massachusetts governor who came closest to stealing the party nomination from McCain; Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty; and former Pennsylvania governor Tom Ridge.

So....

If the Dems get elected it is cut and hide.

If the Repubs get elected then it is a 100 year war.

Or, to put it another way:

If the Repubs get elected then it is a vindication of their policy of killing muslims and the bloodshed continues.

But, if the Dems get elected then it is an indictment against the current policies of the U.S. killing muslims.

So:

If the Repubs get elected then who is going to stop the situation from escalating? Afterall, if occupying one country is good, then occupying two countries must be twice as good.

If the Dems get elected then who is going to bring the Republicans to accountability? Afterall, the indictment is one of unjust mass killing, which is another way of saying mass murder.

Either alternative is scary. I don't remember this issue being so clearly divided after the Vietnam war so I don't think that is a historical guideline. It seems like the U.S. is at an inflection point where half the population think the U.S. is the savior of mankind and the other half think the U.S. is effectively a mass murdering [of muslims] nation [of christians].

The Vietnam war does set a historical guideline in certain ways: Any wrongdoing of a previous administration will be swept under the rug and any criminal charges or activity will be 'pardoned' and the U.S. will go about its way without ever addressing what it had done: Mass murder one million Vietnamese.

History is doomed to repeat itself because the U.S. refuses to live up to its own standards.

Let's see what form of character assasination the republicants deploy next.
The neokon klowns who are behind the strategies of the republicant party are actually some of the biggest political perverts our country has ever known. They have defecated all over the Constitution and rule of law.
They act only in their own self-interest and the self-interest of their lobbyist cohorts. They have destroyed the fabric of our justice system with their kangaroo kourts and sadistic treatment of low-level prisoners swept up in the war on terror. They saw fit to destroy a country that had nothing to do with 9/11, Iraq, and deliberately chose to support a military dictatorship in Pakistan that actually created the real terrorist enemies- Taliban and al qaeda, has real nuclear WMD, and sold nuclear bomb technology to the North Koreans. The neokon klowns failed the main mission- to take out osama bin laden and al qaeda. Now they slurk into the shadows, pretend that osama bin laden doesn't matter, and deny any accountability for their stategic failures.

SP4: Let's really seeAug 23rd, 2008 - 15:26:50

GW Bush was handed a mess. All he ever wanted was to come into the cake-and-ice creme world Clinton had for himself, pass some legislation and retire.

The fact is Clinton handed him an on-the-loose terrorist he could have had in jail and instead let him go. He handed him a useless treaty with no police provisions in N. Korea, an Iraq that was ignored for 8 years while Saddam thumbed his nose and threatened his neighbors. He handed him a mess in Eastern Europe, which still festers. He handed him a blind-as-a-bat intelligence agency, ruined by his henchmen for a full eight years. He handed him a do-nothing piece of progress on Iran's nuclear capability.

All the while Clinton got his whacker bobbed, and smoked salmon flavored cee gars. He was a monkey boy for Hollywood.

Bush. He got 9/11. Thanks a pantload, Chet. So Bush was handed a mop and bucket.

Being the man, Bush went outriding. He destroyed Saddam. He freed 50 million people. He confronted the Al Qaeda Clinton let build uninterupted, while Clinton tried to gag it by having his Klepto Sandy Berg(l)ar steal the documents. He actually went to Afghanistan, something Clinton was afraid to do and dealt with the Taliban. Like Clintons sec state, Madelene Albright once said, talk is cheap, action is the coin of the realm. Pity he never listened to her.

Bush signed the No-Child-Left-Behind act, putting the whip to the Pub ed Lobby the dems would never do, and them braying for the last 7 years, while the presumptive dem libnazi candidate sends his own kids to private schools. Bush put 7 billion into AIDS for Africa, never being asked, he just f--king did it. He kept up pressure on Europe, got the communist leaders in Germany and France flushed, and got them on our side again. He passed free trade legislation, and was left hanging by the dem libnazis, who once greenlighted NAFTA, GATT, WTO, and MFN status for China. I guess he should have SOLD influence, these same folks would have likely beat a path to his door to help.

He lowered taxes, the result being record tax revenues for america, which was utterly swimming in tax money. The dems? Once they got into power, their first act was to pass a useless 300 billion unfunded farm bill for wealthy farmers, after braying about pay-go for 6 years.

In the gossamer world Clinton lived in, he got to drink from the cup while the world festered and Bush, and the rest of us, ended up with the puss of a neglected foreign policy, running down his leg. Like the liberal Presidents before him, Clinton could have nipped it in the bud, but he was more scared of his legacy then he was of dead Americans. Clinton spent his time perpetrating every kind of scandal, lying to the law, selling influence for money, quashing the law after him with abuse of power, all things the Clintons still do to this day, with impunity. His idea of justice was 20 dead kids in Texas, all to get one crazy -aased preacher for a single bullsh-t gun charge he could not make stick in court, and any local DA would have bargained down to nothing.

Now, we have Iraq pacified, at least as much as Pakistan, we have the Taliban on the run, we have Al Qaeda being capped every day, Europe on board, and a nation that has not been attacked for 6 years, by someone who could have been delivered to us, were it not for a libnazi coward in the Oval office at the end of the last century. We finally have the libnazi luddites talking domestic energy independence again i.e. drilling, a stance they ignored for 30 years to feed their enviro-kool-ado drinking constituancy, while you pay for it with $5.00 gas. Bush must be laughing in your face.

So go forward and run this anti-american neophyte for President. Perhaps America needs higher taxes, a head-in-sand foreign policy, and a trip back to the 70's, and $8.00 gas to get the point:

There ain't no going back.

'In the gossamer world Clinton lived in,'
Then there is the drug induced haze that SP4 lives in.

'There ain't no going back.'
But that is exactly what the repubs want.
They pine for the good old days: 'If stuffing that pig was good enough for Daddy, then it's good enough for me and my brats'
Also to that, if there is 'no going back' then why is EssPee always harping on Clinton, who now belongs to history and is not part of today's process? The answer is simple, SP has abused far too many drugs and is so brain damaged that he has no clue whatsoever about what reality is.

'Bush. He got 9/11.'

You forgot to mention that Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11.

Bush lashed out at muslims because:

'He who believes in the Son has eternal life; but he who does not obey the Son will not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.' John 3:36

Bush needs to save muslims from the wrath of God and non-life. 9/11 is just an excuse for mass murdering and mass conversion. Imagine: If Bush can convert an entire nation then a future pope will surely make Bush a saint, that is if Bush converts to catholicism before he dies. It is a give and take negotiation: Bush negotiates conversion [of muslims] for sainthood while the pope and his minions negotiates conversion [of bush] for sainthood. It could be dicy, but Bush may get it in the long run. The system is fickle.

And nothing says 'hope' like a pompous child from the south side of Chicago with 143 days of experience in the senate who has to lock his wife away because of her America resenting mouth and a washed up, hair plugged, speech plagiarizing, bigoted, yapping gaffe machine from Delaware who has had 2 brain aneurysms.

'Now, dickhead, who's got the better memory?'

Just because Clinton gets blow jobs, is an adulterer and (for all practical matters) perjures himself does not mean that Bush gets to kill muslims with impunity.

Now ... onto the subject at hand: Is Biden against the war because he got suckered by evangelists into a larger campaign of killing muslims; or is he against the war because it is not effective enough against muslims?

It is hard to say. The election is such a crap shot. Is who you are voting for a mass murderer of muslims, an adulterer, a thief, a liar? No one knows what type of megalomaniac power hungry greedy politician these candidates will turn into. One thing is for certain: The process makes candidates turn into politicians.

'By the way, he actually can kill muslims, or some muslims, with impunity. Just look and see.'

Yes, SP4 (and your kind). We all know The President Of The United States can kill muslims with impunity, or rather some muslims. So, how many would that be? 20 percent? 30 percent? Maybe half is a good number before it is considered genocide. On the other hand, if The President Of The United States killed 100 percent then there would be no one left over to complain about it.

So, what is your point? Remember: No muslim from Iraq was involved in 9/11 nor did any muslim from Iraq provoke the U.S. to attack muslims in Iraq. Christian soldiers actually have to fly 1000s of miles to kick muslim butt in Iraq, so they have to go out of their way to kill them.

'..why should other muslims be the only people to kill muslims with impunity? '

What Iraq muslims do in Iraq is their own business. If they want to kill each other then they have the sovern right to do so. The same right U.S. citizens had during the U.S. civil war.
