Obama's speech gave 80,000 supporters and millions of Democrats, Republicans, Independents watching TV their moment. When the 80,000 energized supporters started to yell”Yes we can!”, all of us watching TV across America hear their rally cry. Watch out relentless Republican Attack machine! You heard it too! Obama and 80,000 supporters inspired us all. That was the Democrats I grew up with! This is the Democrats I know!

As President you will be President. Nations will respect you only for your title of office. Americans will soon see after your appointment as President that your intentions were manipulated by those that make the rules. You will fill the spot in history as planned, and nothing more.
You will never while in office be able to pull the troops from conflict in any land we are engaged in. As a matter of fact we as a nation will be engaged in a new conflict of war, which will galvanize Americans to seek a different form of government and a different and honest Congress.
You will attempt to shore up Americas problems with false promise and lies, because you cannot directly affect the CHANGE you promised.
Your frustration will be your downfall while in office, and your co-dependence on those that you trust will also add to your demise.
Our Armed Forces in rank will respect you as good soldiers they are, but those under them will not, and for good reasons, that only a good soldier knows.
America will not be America until its government respects the People, and tells the truth. America is a Republic, not a Democracy or Fascist Government or is it?
Until you can walk thru the streets and neighborhoods of America unaided by Secret Service or any other law enforcement agency you will not be respected by the many, only by the fearful and selfish few. Americans can protect their leaders if they are honest and respectful of the people they were elected to serve. Our Government has forsaken us for many hundreds of years, and now we will wait until your 4 years are finished for us to come to fruition.

Hello Mr. Obama,
You made a great speech, and I think you have a wonderful vision for this country.
I believe your vision far outstrips that of the vast majority of those in Congress, especially the current leadership of both political parties. Please don’t let your vision be thwarted by the destructive petty partisanship practiced on both sides of the isle for the last eight years.
Many people I know view the Democratic party as being nothing more than obstructionists who’s main concern is to prevent anything positive from happening while Bush is in office for fear that he might get some credit. I must admit that even I feel sometimes that Pelosi and Reid are more focused on making sure Bush looks bad than moving our country forward. I mean, I have to wonder why the Democrats have not been implementing some of your wonderful ideas already, since they took control of the legislative branch of our government a couple years ago. Instead it has been one inquisition after another in a useless attempt to get Bush, Cheney, and Rove! Lets not forget that much of the economic deterioration in this country that you speak of has actually developed on Reid and Pelosi's watch!
Anyway, I do believe you will win in November and I hope you can actually eliminate some of the crippling partisanship and bring about the kind of spirit of cooperation that you speak of.
I am inspired by Barack Obama. I know we heard a lot of political rhetoric
and 'change' is an inevitable part of politics and life, but we need a real change and the rhetoric we heard rang true because it was based on American values.
I saw a great communicator and leader last night. He spoke from his own values and appealed to mine in an articulate way. Let's work for this man and get him elected president to give him a chance to lead this country and make good on his promises. This battle may not be easy, but I'm in.
If McCain thinks Obama doesn't have bipartisan skills to be president, not to worry, unlike Mr. McCain, Barack probably won't need them once the balance of congress shifts further towards democrats after this next election.
The next president will face many difficult challenges we already know and many we don't know. The Iraq war, major economic issues, terrorism, global warming.. The next president of the US will face a test of leadership on every level. Barack Obama is the leader we need, not John McCain. John McCain is too close to the failed policies of the current administration; Barack Obama is our best hope for positive change.
This process in itself is crippling: Calling 50% of U.S. citizens moron muslim killers that run things into the ground, and then calling the other 50% innocent victims of the first 50%.
So ... how is his vision different from Bush's ?
Going to reduce taxes, give money to the poor, put criminals in jail, 'invest' in America, get the terrorists.
His 'vision' sounds exactly like Bush's. More pork while running up a deficit.

Restore it to what? Is the U.S. going to start killing American Indians again? Bring back slavery?
The fact is: This is just full of platitudes and reality is still not factored into what is being said.

From what I can tell, approximately:
(a) 100 million U.S. citizens agree with the poster above, mostly Fundamental Christians, although they would not phrase it with such lack of political correctness.
(b) 75 million U.S. citizens don't want to think that the first 100 million citizens exist and are generally unwilling to acknowledge that the core of the United States is full of hateful radicals even though they fight against them politically all the time.
(c) 150 million U.S. citizens are trying to keep out of the fray. That is, they find the first and second 175 million citizens completely ignorant and hypocritical and they do not want to participate in such stupidity.
So, three poles in a system. Group (a) are like the pre WWII Nazis, group (b) are like complicit Germans and group (c) is a group waiting to get assimilated into (a) or (b) or become the analog of jews.
So, will the U.S. destiny lie in its Nazi like hatred, or will group (c) , with its current lack of power and resolve, rise above the melee of group (a) and (b) to solidify what the U.S. wants to be but has never been able to achieve.

Actually, it is not democracy, it is 'freedom of speech', which is not a freedom that most U.S. citizens have. An unused freedom is not a freedom, and most U.S. citizens are scared shitless to exercise this particular freedom.
The United States has never been a democracy nor has it aspired to be a democracy. It is more like a 'capitalocracy', a political system run by bosses that leverage power to their own advantage, the political analog of a capitalistic economic system.
In a 'capitalocracy' a boss uses fear and greed to invoke a purely emotional response which causes constituents to become motivated and do something, otherwise those constituents would lie on a couch and watch T.V. all day long and be the equivalent of a slacker in an economic system.
The democratic component of the U.S. is locked away in the 150 million rational people that are trying to keep out of harms way of fear and greed. But, again: A freedom unused is no freedom at all. The U.S. is a slave to greed and fear and has no freedom of democracy.

And, that is why the U.S. shall never rise above itself. Why catholics shall never rise above the child-raping organization it is, why gangs shall never rise above mere thuggery.

As John said below now the buzz is that she has no foreign policy experience. Isn't that just the worst? She's second in line and she has no foreign policy experience!
