Washington - Democratic White House hopeful Barack Obama Wednesday refuted attacks by Republican rival John McCain that he was advocating socialism by wanting to raise taxes on the wealthier, saying the McCain campaign was grasping at desperate straws.
Over the past week, McCain, 72, who is lagging behind Obama in the backstretch to the November 4 elections, has drawn enthusiastic 'boos' from supporters whenever he mentions that Obama wants to 'spread the wealth.'
In a radio address Saturday he likened Obama to Europe's 'Socialist leaders who so admire my opponent.'
Running mate Sarah Palin has gone so far as to say Obama wants socialism because he wants to cancel the tax cuts put through under the Bush administration for people earning more than 250,000 dollars a year. Instead, Obama wants to give tax breaks to the broad middle and working class.
In Florida, Republican Senator Mel Martinez, a Cuban immigrant, has even compared Obama's plan to the communism of Cuba and Fidel Castro.
Obama said the McCain campaign's use of such 'implausible' arguments was an 'indication they have run out of ideas.'
He pointed to McCain's own opposition to President George W Bush's proposed tax cuts for the wealthy during the 2000 campaign for the Republican presidential nomination.
'Was John McCain a socialist in 2000' for opposing Bush's ideas? Obama asked.
Obama, 47, was answering questions after delivering a speech on foreign policy in Richmond, Virginia.

Well, sweetie, if you had more intelligence than Caribou Barbie, you would know that M&C is merely reporting a story. They are not a Democratic mouthpiece anymore than they are a Republican't mouthpiece. They don't quote chapter and verse from any political party, or person. If you want to read the whole speech yourself, look elsewhere.
The loss of all sanity on the entire republican front is amazing...
Here we have a 'conservative republican president' and his band of crooks who began their term with a $128 Billion dollar surplus from Clinton ...and have somehow managed to turn that into a $482 Billion dollar defecit! To that number you can also add $150 Billion that bush stole from the Social Security Trust Fund so as to make HIS deficit appear smaller.
Let's do the math...... This amounts to $760 Billion that the Chimp has managed to piss away in less than eight years....Pretty Impressive Work!
This of course does not include the hundreds of that we will have to spend in bailing out the pile of steaming doo-doo he will leave us with.
$760 Billion is a hard number to get a grip on...but this might help.
If you had a million dollars FOR EACH DAY since the birth of Christ, this would equal about $731 Billion. Think about it.... in less than eight YOUR regime managed to accomplish this feat.... and by only next year with the bush bail-out it could be twice that!!!
I'm not your sweetie...jerk. Monster Critics like most of the media, is most definitely a liberal mouthpiece
You say: 'Monster Critics like most of the media, is most definitely a liberal mouthpiece'
Well, sweetie, just because it isn't a GOP(Graft Obfuscation Perfidy) mouthpiece does NOT make it a liberal mouthpiece. Like any REPUTABLE News service they report the stories, not make them like FOX does. Go back to Fox hunting, sweetie, see if you can find Obama's speech there. By the way, This site is called Monsters and Critics, not Monster Critics. If you want Monster or Monstrous Critics, try the Republican't blogs.
Kathy, they just want to hear what they want to hear and they don't want to hear anything bad about their Obamamessiah... Their soon to be gigantic disappointment.
''Running mate Sarah Palin has gone so far as to say Obama wants socialism because he wants to cancel the tax cuts put through under the Bush administration for people earning more than 250,000 dollars a year. Instead, Obama wants to give tax breaks to the broad middle and working class.''
Complete BS. Obama will raise taxes on the middle class and small business and give the money out in handouts to the people who don't pay taxes already.
Hi there 'Talk about....'
Are U kidding???? Bill Clinton's administration had a surplus???????
During what period???? Do you mean the period of time when we had a chance to kill bin Laden the murderer and let him get away to strike at us again?? I remember that period. I certainly do. Now I know what you mean.....and Do you mean we could not have spent some money with our sophisticated military defense to go after bin Laden much sooner but instead chose to concentrate on bonussing our corrupt corporate pigs
on Wall Street instead of working harder on gathering better intelligence on our international / foreign enemies????? A savvy Pentagon could have done a much better job in the middle East if we didn't hav a G--amn wimp from Arkansas as commander-in-chief!
God help us if that urban chimp gets elected.
A surprise from the Associated Press, as most other polls put Obama way ahead of McCain: AP presidential poll: All even in the homestretch.
WASHINGTON (AP) - The presidential race tightened after the final debate, with John McCain gaining among whites and people earning less than $50,000, according to an Associated Press-GfK poll that shows McCain and Barack Obama essentially running even among likely voters in the election homestretch.
The poll, which found Obama at 44 percent and McCain at 43 percent, supports what some Republicans and Democrats privately have said in recent days: that the race narrowed after the third debate as GOP-leaning voters drifted home to their party and McCain’s “Joe the plumber” analogy struck a chord.
Obama tax plan 'refunds' those who don't pay
Critics call it 'welfare'
Barack Obama says he will give 95 percent of all American workers a tax cut but does not mention that his plan would send checks to tens of millions of tax filers who pay no personal income taxes - payments that critics say look 'suspiciously like welfare.'
Mr. Obama's campaign promise, which he has repeated in his speeches and in the presidential debates, stems from his 'Making Work Pay' tax cut that will give a $500 refundable tax credit to every worker or $1,000 to each working couple. But because this provision in his economic-recovery plan is 'refundable,' a large number of middle- to lower-income workers who have no income-tax liability after taking tax credits and deductions the that Internal Revenue Service allows, will be given the equivalent of the tax cut in the form of direct payments from the U.S. Treasury - funded by higher-income taxpayers.
Because the IRS says that nearly 46 million tax filers - one-third of all filers - had no tax liability in 2006, there is the question of how millions of Americans can receive an income 'tax cut' when they pay no taxes.
'It's got to raise alarm bells when you claim you are going to cut taxes for 95 percent of working families when more than 40 percent of them pay no income taxes,' said Phil Kerpen, policy director at Americans for Prosperity, a grass-roots free-market advocacy group.
'What he's really talking about doing is mailing a check, and to me, that looks more like a welfare program than the kind of real tax relief that would encourage work, savings and investments,' Mr. Kerpen said.
Investor's Business Daily pointed out earlier this month that Mr. Obama's ' 'working families' does not include all households. Throw in singles, retirees, students and the unemployed, and the share getting some tax-related benefit is a good deal less.'

Americans Oppose Income Redistribution to Fix Economy
Half say the government is doing too much, 43% too little to solve country's problems
by Dennis Jacobe, Chief Economist
PRINCETON, NJ -- When given a choice about how government should address the numerous economic difficulties facing today's consumer, Americans overwhelmingly -- by 84% to 13% -- prefer that the government focus on improving overall economic conditions and the jobs situation in the United States as opposed to taking steps to distribute wealth more evenly among Americans.
Lack of Support for Wealth Redistribution Spans Political Party, Income Groups
Americans' lack of support for redistributing wealth to fix the economy spans political parties: Republicans (by 90% to 9%) prefer that the government focus on improving the economy, as do independents (by 85% to 13%) and Democrats (by 77% to 19%). This sentiment also extends across income groups: upper-income Americans prefer that the government focus on improving the economy and jobs by 88% to 10%, concurring with middle-income (83% to 16%) and lower-income (78% to 17%) Americans.
McCain reminds Biden he's been tested in crisis
HARRISBURG, Pa. (AP) - Republican John McCain told voters in this key electoral state Tuesday he was personally tested by the same kind of crisis that Democratic vice presidential nominee Joseph Biden warned Barack Obama will almost certainly face if elected president.
McCain recalled being ready to launch a bombing run during the October 1962 Cuban Missile Crisis, which Biden said over the weekend tested a new President John F. Kennedy and was the template for the kind of 'generated crisis' the 47-year-old Obama would face within six months of taking office.
'I was on board the USS Enterprise,' McCain, a former naval aviator, said in the capital city of Harrisburg. 'I sat in the cockpit, on the flight deck of the USS Enterprise, off of Cuba. I had a target. My friends, you know how close we came to a nuclear war.'
As the crowd of several thousand began to swell with cheers and applause, he added with dramatic effect: 'America will not have a president who needs to be tested. I've been tested, my friends.'
Biden told two fundraising audiences in Seattle over the weekend that he expected world figures to test Obama early if he wins the election in two weeks. 'He's gonna need you - not financially to help him - we're gonna need you to use your influence, your influence within the community, to stand with him,' Biden said.
In citing the Cuban Missile Crisis he evoked a historic event in which McCain played a part.
'The Enterprise, sailing at full speed under nuclear power, was the first U.S. carrier to reach waters off Cuba,' McCain wrote in his memoir, 'Faith of My Fathers.''For about five days, the pilots on the Enterprise believed we were going into action. We had never been in combat before, and despite the global confrontation a strike on Cuba portended, we were prepared and anxious to fly our first mission.'
He added: 'Pilots and crewmen alike adopted a cool-headed, business-as-usual attitude toward the mission. Inwardly, of course, we were excited as hell, but we kept our composure and aped the standard image of a laconic, reserved, and fearless American at war.'
The 72-year-old McCain regularly questions whether Obama - a first-term senator - has the experience to be president. He also questions whether the Illinois Democrat has the character to stand up to his own party and to stick with his core philosophical views.
right here.'
The usual non-stop claptrap from the GOP Disinformation Bureau. Palin and McCain have got the Robocrap Squad working overtime. Yawn.
'The usual non-stop claptrap from the GOP Disinformation Bureau'
Gee, what an excellent deconstruction of the argument and a detailed rebuttal of the points made. I was especially impressed with the references and links to graphs and visual aids which really brought your point home in a clear and easy to understand fashion. You are the most brilliant economic mind the world has known since Adam Smith and your clever rebuttal has shattered all of my previous assumptions. I can't believe that I was ever so wrongheaded... Thank you for educating me with your clever and thought provoking critique.

It is all electioneering, not comment. Don't these fools realize that they are not going to get anybody to change their vote? Maybe they will affect a few undecideds, but it will most likely drive them to the Obama side.
The GOP has always been big on plumbers. Where are Nixon's Plumbers? Where is Joe the Plumber? Yup, we need a REAL Plumber right now to unplug the GOP sewer pipe. It keeps backing up onto this site. A plumber is required, not a sewer plug.
I cannot be sold on putting the task of Commander-in-Chief in the hands of a very well meaning young man who would like to serve his country and not just his senate district as Mr. Obama has done. But, lets face it. This job should never be placed in the hands of a neophyte like Barack.
John McCain's turf has been (for enough years) this entire country
from the Mexican border to Wall Street. He won't be distracted from presidential tasks by friends in TV studios or on Hollywood movie sets. This job is far too important for that.
You say: 'Thank you for educating me with your clever and thought provoking critique.'
You're most welcome crap-for-brains, any time.
This job should never be placed in the hands of a neophyte like Palin.(who as VP would be President-in-waiting)
This job is far too important for that.
Sorry my friend, If you're afraid of having a woman put into a position of great authority, or the potential to be placed in great authority....you...my friend are probably going to be voting for the losing ticket in two weeks, not me!
'Country first!'------Vote for McCain for President and Palin for VICE-PRESIDENT (That's the way the ballot appears-contrary to liberal pessimists)
George Bush is the biggest SOCIALIST of them all.
From a REAL Nam Vet.
I am not afraid to have a woman in the Whitewhore House, OR having one in a postion of authority. However, she MUST be QUALIFIED for the office. As for REALISM, which you programmed monkeys take for liberal pessimism, McCain is old. His health is of great concern. Both his physical and mental health are of concern. Palin as VP would become President should anything happen to Dear John. Palin is not qualified to run a Girl Scout Den meeting, let alone a country with as many problems as ours. Caribou Barbie should stay with what she knows, gutting animals out on an Alaskan trap-line. Be very very careful how you vote. Palin is a Claymore pointed in the wrong direction. She'll blow up in our faces.
the RNC has spent over $150,000 since September for clothes, make-up, shoes, hairdos etc. I bet that is more than Joe the Pumber makes in a year, a lot more. But it doesn't matter how you dress her up and do her hair and make-up, she's nothing but a painted pig without a brain.
'From a REAL Nam Vet.'
You are a REAL LIAR.
'I am not afraid to have a woman in the Whitewhore House,'
So you refer to the peoples home as a 'whore house' and we are expected to believe that you have served this country in any other respect then a shrill, spoiled brat, retarded web troll?
'However, she MUST be QUALIFIED for the office. '
SHE HAS MORE EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS THEN THE HEAD OF THE DEMOCRATIC TICKET. Barack Obama, maniacally and dangerously decided that he was ready to be president of the USA after 143 days in the senate. That is just Crazy. He has no genuine legislative accomplishments and nothing but a string of failures in his background. He has never seen a job through. He isn't even qualified to do the job he has yet, let along the one he wants.
'McCain is old. His health is of great concern.'
Put your mind at rest: He has released his medical records and has a clean bill of health. Obama hasn't released his records and behaves like a coke head.
'Palin as VP would become President should anything happen to Dear John'
If god forbid that were to happen she STILL has more experience then Obama does. She has had a longer career and she has had 80-93% approval ratings. Obama has left one disaster after another while always seeking to get the next job.
' Palin is a Claymore pointed in the wrong direction. '
LOL, nice touch. You are an absolute liar and you are not fooling anyone.
'She'll blow up in our faces.'
Obama has throughout hos life surrounded himself with people who hate the USA and want to bring it to it's knees. His mentors have declared war on the country and murdered police officers or shrieked 'Damn America' from their pulpits. Want to see 'blow up in our faces'? Wait until you see the disaster that this thing that you lemmings want to foist on our country will leave in his wake. It will be the end of the USA as a superpower.
Another $5,000 was spent at Atelier, a classy men's boutique, suggesting that Porky Palin's husband Todd, the First Dude, may also have come in for feeding at the trough.
'he RNC has spent over $150,000 since September for clothes, make-up, shoes, hairdos etc. '
How much did the DNC spend trying to keep Michelle Obama in her undisclosed location so she wouldn't vent her hate on Americans?
'Obama has throughout hos life'
Should be 'his'...
You say: 'You are a REAL LIAR.'
Ok, mofo, prove it. You are typical of the republican mindset. Anything you don't want to hear is a lie and the messenger is a liar. How typical of the Repubs, to attack and not discuss intelligently. You call me a liar, now prove it.
YOU say: 'So you refer to the peoples home as a 'whore house' and we are expected to believe that you have served this country in any other respect then a shrill, spoiled brat, retarded web troll? '
Take a look at the whores that have populate the White house for the past 8 years. If they didn't turn it into the Whitewhore House, then who did? As for the petty name calling - 'a shrill, spoiled brat, retarded web troll'
that is more indicative of the stupidity coming from a prepubescent teenager, not a real vet. As a matter of coincidence, that is the type of stuff to come from cretins like that Smiley D character. The LOL is also so typical of that 'mind' set.
I could go on through the rest of your rant, but you're head is stuck in your own orifice and reality isn't going to dislodge it.
You're no vet. You're a GOP Spambot.
Campaign finance records have revealed that the law firm founded by Charles Keating - before he went to jail for fraud, racketeering, and conspiracy for his activities as chairman of Lincoln Savings and Loans - has made donations totalling over $50,000 to McCain's campaign.
NO lie, fool
During September, more than $75,000 was spent in a single shopping spree at Neiman Marcus in Minneapolis, and another $9,500 at Macy's in the same city - scene of the Republican party convention where John McCain introduced Ms Palin as his running mate.
Later in the month $50,000 was spent in forays into Saks Fifth Avenue in New York and St Louis, on a procession of neat little waisted jackets, pencil skirts, killer boots and patent heels that have enabled Ms Palin to appear in at least one, and sometimes two or three, new outfits a day.
The party also spent nearly $5,000 on hair and makeup.
Call that a lie, GOPbot
Palin's a painted pig.
$150,000 for Palin's clothes? That was in September alone. That's $5,000 per day! Holy crap, all that and she still doesn't have a brain. I bet the average WORKING American doesn't lay that much out in a year, for clothes.
If the prospect of Joe Biden sitting a heartbeat away from the presidency doesn’t give you palpitations, you are not paying attention.
Hysterical Sarah Palin-bashers on the unhinged left and elitist right have dominated campaign press coverage and pop culture. They’ve ridiculed her family, her appearance, and her speech patterns. They’ve derided her character, her parenting skills, her readiness, and her intellect.
Meanwhile, the increasingly erratic, super-gaffetastic Joe Biden gets a pass. What does the guy have to do to earn the relentless scrutiny and merciless mockery he deserves? Answer: Wear high heels, shoot caribou, and change the “D” next to his name to an “R.”
...Throughout the primary and general election cycles, Biden has lurched from attacking Obama as not-ready-for-primetime (“The presidency is not something that lends itself to on-the-job training,” September 2007) to ready-to-lead (“Barack Obama is ready. This is his time,” August 2008) and back again. This week, Biden warned America that an Obama victory would invite a dangerous global showdown between tyrants and the naïf Obama. “Mark my words,” Biden said Sunday at a Democratic fund-raiser. “It will not be six months [after the inauguration] before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy.” In a follow-up appearance, he told followers to brace for the worst and “gird your loins.”
Out of Biden’s mouth, this is called candor. Out of anyone else’s mouth, it would be “fear-mongering,” “negative campaigning,” and a “distraction.”
Tooting his own horn while vandalizing his running mate’s, Biden bragged: “I’ve forgotten more about foreign policy than most of my colleagues know.” Yeah. Colleagues like that guy who had a mere 143 days of Senate experience before launching his presidential bid and choosing you to shore up his meager credibility, Joe.
In fact, Biden has spent the entire campaign questioning his running mate’s judgment. Last month, he mused out loud: “Hillary Clinton is as qualified or more than I am to be vice president of the United States of America…She is easily qualified to be vice president of the United States of America and quite frankly it might have been a better pick than me.” Biden assailed the campaign’s position on clean coal, openly criticized the campaign’s idiotic ad attacking John McCain for not using e-mail, and warned the pro-gun control Obama that “if he tries to fool with my Beretta, he’s got a problem.”
Dan Quayle will have “POTATOE” etched on his gravestone. But how many times have late-night comedians and cable shows replayed the video of senior statesman and six-term Sen. Biden’s own spelling mishap last week while attacking John McCain’s economic plan?
“Look, John’s last-minute economic plan does nothing to tackle the number one job facing the middle class, and it happens to be, as Barack says, a three-letter word: jobs. J-O-B-S.”
No, Joe. “D’-O-H” is a three-letter-word.
Nightly news shows still haven’t tired of replaying Sarah Palin’s infamous interview with Katie Couric. But how many times have they replayed Joe Biden’s botched interview with Couric last month – in which he cluelessly claimed: “When the stock market crashed, Franklin D. Roosevelt got on the television and didn’t just talk about the, you know, the princes of greed. He said, ‘Look, here’s what happened.’”
Er, here’s what really happened: Roosevelt wasn’t president when the market crashed in 1929. As for appearing on TV, it was still in its infant stages and wasn’t available to the general public until at least ten years later.
During the lone VP debate earlier this month, the increasingly erratic, super-gaffetastic Joe Biden demonstrated more historical ignorance that Sarah Palin would never have been able to get away with: “Vice President Cheney’s been the most dangerous vice president we’ve had probably in American history,” Biden said. “He has the idea he doesn’t realize that Article I of the Constitution defines the role of the vice president of the United States, that’s the executive — he works in the executive branch. He should understand that. Everyone should understand that.”
Article 1 of the Constitution defines the role of the legislative branch, not the executive branch. You would think someone who has served 36 years in government – the same someone who is quick to remind others of his high IQ and longtime Senate Judiciary Committee chairmanship – would know better.
Joe Biden’s erratic and gaffe-tastic behavior is the least of America’s worries. He’s worse than a blunderbuss. He’s an incurable narcissist with chronic diarrhea of the mouth. He’s a phony and a pretender who fashions himself a foreign policy expert, constitutional scholar, and wordly wise man. He’s a man who can’t control his impulses.
And he could be a heartbeat away. Now, back to your regularly scheduled Palin-says-“You Betcha” skit.
Libertarian presidential candidate Bob Barr declared John McCain is going to lose the election.
'Sen. McCain will be spending the last two weeks before the election on his 'farewell tour' across America. Sen. McCain's mixed and angry message, as well as his support of big-spending policies, have killed any chance McCain may have had to win this election.'
'A vote for John McCain is a wasted vote.
How about them apples. Bob Barr doesn't stand a chance in H*LL of winning, but, at least his assessment is correct.
'You say: 'You are a REAL LIAR.'
Ok, mofo,'
'mofo' LOl...Learn that in Da Nang? :-D
' You are typical of the republican mindset. Anything you don't want to hear is a lie and the messenger is a liar.'
Seeing as I have been saying that to you for months I wish you would try to come up with something original.
'How typical of the Repubs, to attack and not discuss intelligently.'
I went through your post line by line and gave it the 'discussion' it warranted, in between correctly calling you a liar.
'You call me a liar, now prove it. '
Simple, you would have had to leave your mommies basement to go all the way over to Vietnam. You would also have to not be a 13 year old bratty girl who gets hysterical and has bouts of infantile, foot stomping verbal diarrhea. No. Someone who had the experience of flying halfway around the world and spending a year or 2 putting HIS ass on the line for the country wouldn't be so quick to flush it down the toilet. Let alone waste her life being sp4's creepy stalker or trying to dig dirt up on anonymous posters on the internet. You are just a needy spoiled brat liar who lashes out at the rest of the world because you seek to make people as miserable as you are.
'Take a look at the whores that have populate the White house for the past 8 years. If they didn't turn it into the Whitewhore House, then who did?'
The White House history goes back a lot farther then 8 years. It housed some pretty incredible people, from both sides of the aisle. Proclaiming it to be a 'whore house' is just another element of your profound ignorance.
'You're no vet.'
Psychological projection from a proven liar.
'Libertarian presidential candidate Bob Barr declared John McCain is going to lose the election.'
The latest poll from AP shows that it is evening up. God help the USA if he doesn't.
'Bob Barr doesn't stand a chance in H*LL of winning, but, at least his assessment is correct.'
It aint over until it is over. McCain might win the electoral college or even the popular vote yet. He is ahead in Florada and Ohio again and within the margin of error in Pennsylvania. Your polls don't cont the military which favors McCain 3 to 1 which will help him carry Virginia.
We heard this with Gore, Kerry, and Carter. Then 'Jesusland' had it's say.
at this point 4 years ago, CNN had Kerry up by 14 points
Now that we have endured the rantings of Smiley D once again we can now return to reality. This poster, 'Another vet from NY' is none other than Smiley D, pudnocker, headcase, attack dog, moron, The guy who can't get anything right, the King of Spam himself. This is the guy who has served in Afghanistan, was in the Navy and now is a Nam Vet.
Wow, Who is this guy, God, or Jesus Christ?
How about: he's a headcase. A guy who writes responses to imaginary posts. The guy who goes out of his way to attack people and then whines when they respond in kind. This guy is a fruitloop, nutbar, wingnut all rolled into one. He's a bowl of Granola. What isn't fruit is nuts. Discredited nuts.
you forgot to add 'Creepy stalker' as another one of Smiley D's aliases.
Isn't it comical that the party whose president just nationalised our banks are calling the other party socialists?
'Bewitched, bothered and bewildered am I.' He is stumbling badly at his recent rallies, mixing words and making a mess. Cindy is standing behind him looking like a parrot, making weird facial expressions and grinning (grimacing ?). She looks quickly stiff when he spouts off with the wrong statements. And Palin is still adding to his sorrow. They keep repeating the same things over and over, Ayers, Plumber Joe, etc., They are really keeping Obama's name out there while they fail to state anything worthwhile about their own policies. Oh well, it'll soon be over. Palin can hoist her gun up on her shoulder, and fly back to the land of the midnight sun, and McCain can go back to deciding in which house he's gonna spend the weekend.
'Someone who had the experience of flying halfway around the world and spending a year or 2 putting HIS ass on the line for the country'
He wouldn't know. He's never been outside of Bed-Sty. Or, as he would put it, he's never been out of mommy's basement.
I guess you are so jaded your stupidity makes it impossible to see the real point. That point would be (god help me with this child) Biden nor Obama is running around this country pretending to be a 'red neck girl', one of the people, just like all those people in the 'right part of the country'. Most of those people could not spend $5,000 a year on clothes let alone $150,000 in 54 days.
You just don't get it. If you are going to claim you are just like us, your wife cannot wear $300,000 worth of jewelry and clothes, own 7 homes, 13 cars, spend $150,000 on clothes, have the state pay for your husband and children (then when you are about to get caught change the expense forms, tell lies about most everything you have accomplished, fire someone because they divorced a family member, or in general be a scumball.
All of this is McCain and Palin. Good luck in 13 days, but the fat lady is tuning up.
'This is the guy who has served in Afghanistan, was in the Navy and now is a Nam Vet. '
No. Yes. No.
' A guy who writes responses to imaginary posts.'
You are so insane.
'That point would be (god help me with this child) Biden nor Obama is running around this country pretending to be a 'red neck girl','
If they were to pretend to be any kind of girl that would probably not ply too well in western Pennsylvania, idiot.
'one of the people, just like all those people in the 'right part of the country'.'
'Scranton', 'Scranton', botox, 'home depot', hair plugs, 'Scranton'. You are wrong, idiot.
'Most of those people could not spend $5,000 a year on clothes let alone $150,000 in 54 days.'
The sources for that $150,000 figure are highly suspect and Again, the DNC doesn't have to worry about putting clothing on Michelle Obama because she is locked away for fear of blurting out how much she hates the USA. Wen she does emerge from her undisclosed location where she has been locked away the only thing that they COULD buy that would fit her rear end says 'Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus' on the side. Also, who paid for Bidens botox? The geezer looked like he belonged in a wax museum.
' If you are going to claim you are just like us, your wife cannot wear $300,000 worth of jewelry and clothes,'
'Us'? 'You, you mean. When did she claim she was a jealous moonbat? I don't recall seeing any press release where Cindy McCain claimed she was a mentally deranged jealous-a-holic still resentful because she didn't go to the prom?
'Good luck in 13 days, but the fat lady is tuning up.'
You have been singing all along... It still aint over kiddo.
Should be 'play' and 'when'...
A minor correction to your post, sir. That was $150,000 for the month of September. The figures for October won't be released until after the election. So that is 30 days, not 54. That just makes the whole scenario worse. $5,000 per day. WOW! I wonder how much the RNC is spending on the Glamor Queen this month. I wonder how much money in the form of food she's scarfing down. Beluga Caviar from Russia, Champagne from France(and all that it will turn into is sh*t. Does she use toilet paper or Chamois for her tender tush? Hotel rooms. Did I just say hotel rooms? How about Suites, and I bet it ain't Motel 6. How much is it costing each and every day, 24 hours per day? How 'socialist' can you get. Welfare for the well-off is what it is. Mike the mechanic's $50 donation doesn't paint even one of her toe nails. What a waste.

'A guy who writes responses to imaginary posts.
You are so insane.'
Indeed you are.
So what have we got here. Posts that are grammatically the same. Rabid dog attacks that are the same. Politics the same. 'philosophy' the same. Misspellings the same. Point of origin the same. Everything the same except the 'posters' deny being the same person. So, is 'Charles,' actually Smiley D who claims to have been in Nam and Afghanistan and in the navy as well as being highly educated to the point of having 2 advanced degrees?
Time out folks, I need a scorecard. The crazies are coming out of the woodwork and I need a scorecard to keep them straight.
You know what? I'm going to simplify this.
Republican = multiple personality disorder
multiple personality disorder = Headcase
Headcase = republican.
There, done. We have a circle jerk going on now.
We have circled the jerks.
What a fruitbasket the repubs are.
They are pimping an almost dead guy for President, a Tundra Tart for VP and they call me insane. Christ Almighty, what the hell has happened to the country of my birth?

My god you are pathetic. You truly need to get a life.

You are conflating a bunch of unrelated posts. Not that it matters. Think what you want to think.

You are seriously a troubled little thing. The fact that you obsess about completely anonymous people posting on the internet makes you a serious mental case.
'and they call me insane. '
Yes, you are a ranting, sad, disturbed thing.
You are seriously a troubled little thing. Yes, you are a ranting, sad, disturbed thing. Haul yourself off to Bellevue, headcase.
I wonder how much the Secret Service body guards for her and her family cost per day. I wonder how much the total 'infrastructure' costs are for Putrid Palin. All of it wasted for what boils down to babysitting a bimbo.
There are serious issues that need consideration in this election.
Now no more than ever the future of this country is at stake.
The business as usual theory has failed and cannot save the USA.
It really is a time for change!, before its too late.
One must see beyond these fake and meaningless issues that some raise, and their immoral and empty nature, in order to probably divert the attention of the people from the dire situation that is only begining to emerge!
It is time for change!
It’s America’s newest disease - only diagnosed by some in the media a few days ago - but it is spreading among the nation’s Beautiful People at an alarming rate.
You know it by its initials - PDS. Palin Derangement Syndrome.
You can watch the victims of PDS on TV every night, frothing at the mouth in front of Obama banners, repeating scurrilous lies lifted from left-wing blogs or just making up new whoppers as they go along. It’s an epidemic - Palin Derangement Syndrome swept through MSNBC studios this week and claimed two anchors, who are survived by dozens of viewers.
The bad news is, PDS appears to be incurable. The good news is, it only strikes one demographic group - moonbats.
Like so many earlier plagues, PDS mutated from an earlier affliction, BDS, Bush Derangement Syndrome. But BDS often metastasized over months, if not years, and struck across the political spectrum.
Are you at risk of contracting this virulent contagion? Do you work for a living? If the answer to the latter is yes, the answer to the former is probably no. It only strikes the Politically Correct. So far, it has struck only those who believe that 9/11 was an “inside job,” or who have “Redefeat Bush” bumper stickers on the backs of their Priuses.
Let us consider a few case study.
“Joe B.”
Normally considered nothing more than a plagiarizing blowhard, Joe B. was struck down with a particularly nasty strain of PDS - an overpowering depression and paranoia about his own worthlessness. Never one to speak succinctly, Joe B. suddenly became an even bigger windbag. Listen to this endless torrent of words in Nashua, N.H.:
“Hillary Clinton is as qualified or more qualified than I am to be vice president of the United States of America. Let’s get that straight. She’s a truly close personal friend; she is qualified to be president of the United States of America. She’s easily qualified to be vice president of the United States of America and, quite frankly, it might have been a better pick than me, but she is first-rate.”
Prognosis: Verbal diarrhea poses no immediate danger to himself, but his audiences are increasingly falling into comas or trances.
Fourth case: “Barry O.”
Since first glimpsing Sarah, Barry O. has been unable to speak coherently, has talked of “wrecking havoc” and brought up his “Muslim faith” on national TV. Finally, in the grips of full-blown PDS, Barry slurred Sarah as a pig, and then claimed that he, not Sarah, was a victim - admittedly, his perennial fallback position, which has never failed him before.
Prognosis: Grave. Drs. Al Gore and John Kerry have been called to his bedside.
71% Say McCain Qualified to be President, but Only 46% Say Obama Qualified
Conservatives are excited tonight about a new AP poll showing that Obama and McCain are now in a statistical dead heat: Obama 44% - McCain 43%.
But it gets even more interesting. Looking at the data behind the data, the same poll shows that 71% of likely voters believe McCain has 'the right type of experience' to be president (20% do not), whereas only 46% believe Obama has 'the right type of experience' (44% do not). In another words, the country overwhelmingly believes McCain is qualified to be president, but is evenly split as to whether Obama is qualified. That seems like awfully good news for McCain. After all, it is hard to imagine that many of the 44% of Americans who believe Obama is unqualified will actually vote for him. So that leaves merely 56% of Americans who could even potentially vote for Obama. That doesn't leave Obama much room for error.
Another extremely interesting finding: although the candidates are in a virtual dead heat, likely voters overwhelmingly believe (67%-25%) that Obama will be elected. So even though voters are evenly divided as to which candidate they prefer, the perception is that Obama is way ahead.
I found this very interesting article detailing how the Bush administration with the help of Paulson is implimenting the Wall Street bailout .All the details are there, quite shoking how the taxpayer's mony is thrown away without ANY control or reward.I dare any GOP partisan to to state any of this is wrong. But I well come them to defend it ?That'll change from the usual smear about Biden.
economix.blogs.nytimes.com/2008/10/17/churchills-dictum-and-henry-pauls on/?pagemode=printI'd like to add the comment made by John Kansas the CEO C.E.O. of North Fork Bancorp, in The Wall Street Journal: It looks like a pretty good deal for the recipients and probably a pretty tough deal for taxpayers. It seems quite explicit that theres no strings attached to this money. It seems like a gift.
'I found this very interesting article detailing how the Bush administration with the help of Paulson is implimenting[sic] the Wall Street bailout'
Bush isn't running you nitwit and both Obama and McCain supported the bailout.
@Fix your own crappy country tonny
If you read a little, you would find Europe has fixed the problem (started by American greed) following the origianl solution set out by Gordon Brown from the UK.
Bush has then tried to copy Europe's solution but without really understanding and without the regulatory framework required (which would, of course, restrict the snouts in the trough attitude of the major Republicans
I wanted to give each candidate time to convince me for whom to cast my vote. Every time I watch McCain, he usually begins his speeches with 'Obama this, Obama that', and not as much about his own policies.
When I watched Palin, I was embarrassed for McCain to have this woman dragging him down and seeing so many incorrect statements she makes. Obama spends much more time concentrating on his policies and much less time on negative campaigning, therefore, I think I know more about what to expect from him.
We don't want no stinking socialist government. Our money is our own money and we don't want some commie leader to spread the wealth around.
We need to abolish social security, medicare and medicaid. We need to abolish all welfare and programs like food stamps, and WIC. If people want to be poor, then let them be poor. We don't need to help those lazy butts. Let's get rid of Amtrak, and all metro transpertation systems.
All governemnt subsidized hospitals, clinics, and health care programs should be eliminated. We need to privatize the post office, and the so-called public highway system. Let the freeloading bums pay their own way.
Public education should be totally abolished. With the public welfare state dismantled, we won't need to pay much taxes. A flat rate tax of 5% on all earned income up to $150,000 max. will do. After that, all income should be tax free, including capital gains, inheritance, and gifts.
Property tax is un-American, and socialistic, and should be abolished immediately, because it taxes the most valuable property the most money. With tax reform like I propose we Americans will have plenty of money to fund the few necessary items such as a strong military capable of simultaneously fighting wars on four fronts. We'll even have funds left over to help subsidize the really needy corporations, including corn growers, and tobacco farmers.
You're a funny man anti-socialist .You'd ruin your country just to be able to give me the finger .Lucky for you other americans are different.
What you don't understand is that the challenges represented by the economical crisis, the international situation, global warming ,health care and education require a strong government .As for invome tax,any idea how you wil pay off a multi trillion dollar debt without billing anybody ?
I thought not but don't worry,I do.!!!
Make the 1 percent of american that owe 38 percent of all wealth in your country pay 38 percent of the necessary sums required to cover your expenses, nationalize the oil secor, nationalize the banks, reduce silly spendings like armament that provide no consumer goods : lo and behold, the crisis is thus solved, you'll all have more money to spend ,and especially YOU will be able to benefit from urgent education.Unless of course you have another solution to fiw the situation. Now tell me how you'd fix the problem I am curious....
What problem? We ain't got no problems in my country except the anti-American biased MSM that wants to pretend there are all kinds problems.
It don't matter that all we produce is plastic money, and that the tech support for everything we don't produce is in India, as long as we can trick them dumb commies in China to foot the bill.
To all the pea-brained, maggot minded, abusive, puritanical, name calling, 'ban it', bible thumping, hyper-sensitive, 'please don`t swear', anti-critical, juvenile minded, semi-illiterate faggots who plague this site with their angelic intolerance of others points of view ; -
HAVE A NICE DAY.
================
Now, abuse THAT you puerile feeble minded nutters.
Ever been in the military ? Jesus ! How on earth did you survive with all those nasty, evil minded men with their FFF--ing and S---D--ing around all the time. Change your diapers every few minutes, did you ?
the Repubs have spoken!
he has spent his entire career taking money from the middle class and funneling it into low income housing.
he worked with housing activists to get exactly what we have today, a totally deregulated dysfunction housing market where you can buy a home with your section 8 housing voucher, and the backing of the US government, meaning that taxpayers, we the people, will pay for it, when we can't even afford a home ourselves.
Robert Rubin, Obama's advisor, pushed for repeal of Glass Steagull and viola you have the subprime mortagages being totally deregulated.
it all comes back to mortgages by and for people who can't afford them
you are crazy if you vote for Obama - there will only be more of this madness if you vote for him
Aaaah...the beauty of it ...now Obama is the cause of the mortgage crisis!!!
Some people realy have to see a doctor...providing they are covered by health care there is still hope for their mental health .
Only two more weeks for the GOP trolls to smear one of the most inspiring candidates for the highest office of your country ever .Patience is a small rpice to pay for change from thisilth.
Have you not been reading al these posts ?
TONNY may originate from Belgium, by birth or some distant ancestry - BUT SHE CERTAINLY IS NOT IN BELGIUM.
She is a little girlie-wirlie who LIVES IN WASHINGTON D.C, has a big picture of President Bush Jr. in her toilet and reads the distasteful WASHINGTON POST every day word for word.
She then quotes this garbage with TV coverage in all her posts. She is an avid Spammer and deceptive fraud.
It is best if you reply to her as 'TONNY FROM WASHINGTON D.C' until she has the guts to admit it.
I doubt if she knows where BELGIUM is without looking at an atlas or tapping Google Maps.
Independent:
'I think I know more about what to expect from him.'
He has a 143 day record in the senate and a 20 year record in the damn America church. He gives lovely speeches but when those speeches are peppered with provable lies what do you have left but his record to go on?
McCain has served the country for 50 years. You can know what to expect from him.
You are ranting and raving just like McSame. No wonder you are rabidly in love with him. You are also becomming inconsequential as your McSame.
Having read all the posters in these current bulletins, it is apparent that a certain 'SMILEY D' is having an extremely long vacation on trust from the Funny Farm.
I do hope the general public are not in any danger, you never know with these on-trust nutters.
His brain sure is screwed up in a massive tangle of crap, it would take a Rubik Cube expert to unscramble it, IF he ever could. The guy does not seem to have the tiniest clue on how modern society functions or normal people behave.
No matter really, but it does rather clutter up these M&C pages with undiluted nonsense that others feel compelled to reply to - then off we go again on another abusive marathon and the news subject is totally forgotten.
Perhaps with luck, they will soon take the poor soul back to his padded kennel or at the worst he just 'may' fall down some bottomless pit.
what McDuffy would have fill in his time if he didn't have 'Joe the Plumber' to rely on? He keeps pounding away about the things that need to be fixed but doesn't come up with ideas on how to fix them. He is so engrossed in spewing out Obama attacks that he is falling down on the job of getting his policies out there, and Palin is going in there in the Senate and fix and change policies - what a team!
'BRAIN DAMAGE'.... You chose your user name well this time sock puppet generating attention whore.
Socialism: A progressive political system that takes the power away from wealth creators and gives it to wealth distributors. Wealth distributors are typically a class of highly trained government bureaucrats who are being watched by a class of political commissars, who, in turn, are being watched by a class of secret police, all of whom are banded together by shared progressive morals. Because progressive morals are relative by definition, a certain measure of absolute propaganda is necessary to encourage collectivism and discourage counter revolution. Since such propaganda is delivered through mass media, arts, and schools, a degree of ideological monopoly, uniformity, and censorship is also required in those fields. The resulting mass enthusiasm creates a vibrant state-subsidized culture, leading to great economic successes and technological breakthroughs, e.g., North Korea.
from the Encyclopedia Britannica:
Social and economic doctrine that calls for public rather than private ownership or control of property and natural resources. According to the socialist view, individuals do not live or work in isolation but live in cooperation with one another. Furthermore, everything that people produce is in some sense a social product, and everyone who contributes to the production of a good is entitled to a share in it. Society as a whole, therefore, should own or at least control property for the benefit of all its members.
vote for McCain either; but whatever you do, don't vote for Obama. He will be poison for the USA and her citizens. Don't think for a minute these are the only two people you can vote for because you can write in another candidate if you wish.
well said, Sir. Precise. Succinct.
'To: BRAIN DAMAGE
well said, Sir. Precise. Succinct. '
The height of insecurity is a sock puppet complementing itself.
Get a thorazine drip.
McCain and his Alaskan moose hunter are toast. Their hate inducing rallies, constant spewing about Bill Ayers - whom most younger people know nothing about or care about - constant lies about Obama's tax policies, and concentrating on poor Joe the Plumber - who is hating the publicity because of McCain - along with Palin's obvious misunderstanding of what constitutes the office of the VP - guess they didn't bother to fill her in - plus a few other of her debacles along the way, are just a few of the things that have burned this pair up. The fat lady has sung her song loud and clear!!
As usual your stories are only half truths---when you jump to judgement sometimes you jump to far. Pittsburgh Police reported today:
'Pittsburgh police say a McCain campaign volunteer who said she was held down by a black man who cut the letter 'B' in her face has changed her story.
Police spokeswoman Diane Richard says investigators gave the 20-year-old woman a lie-detector test and are 'looking at some inconsistencies' in her story.
The student, Ashley Todd, of College Station, Texas, initially said a black man robbed her at knifepoint Wednesday night and then cut her cheek after seeing a McCain sticker on her car.
Police say bank surveillance footage doesn't show her at an ATM where she says she was attacked.
Todd, who is white, now says she was knocked unconscious and doesn't remember being cut. She now says she only discovered the wound later.'
What exactly does 'spread the wealth' mean to you?
So much for Smiley D A-hole's credibility:
'This afternoon, a Pittsburgh police commander told KDKA Investigator Marty Griffin that Todd confessed to making up the story.
The commander added that Todd will face charges; but police have not commented on what those charges will be.'
Typical right wing neo-con!
over the backlash to her spending $150,000 on clothes and hair and toenail painting. SEXIST? $150,000 in 30 days. That's $5,000 per day. SEXIST? Joe the plumber's $50.00 contribution wouldn't paint one of her toe nails. SEXIST? What working class joe spends $5,000 per YEAR on clothes? SEXIST? You Tundra Tart. You Painted Pig. You BImbo with a Bouffant. You Trap-line Trollop. SEXIST? Jeeezus H. Christ on a fricking wooden crutch gimme a fricking break here. An assault rifle packin', animal guttin' mud slingin' neocon, evangelical nut bar. Sexist? Hey, b*tch. If you can't stand the heat, get the F*** out of politics. SEXIST?
There is the difference between Deomcrats and republicans: Democrats feel fine about the Clinton's blocking a runway at LAX while Bill gets a $1000 dollar haircut (how much could that possibly cost taxpayers?) but object the moment a republican does the same.
I've seen Palin. There is no way she spends that much on clothes. besides, republicans are not concerned with what others do with their money.
'I've seen Palin. There is no way she spends that much on clothes. besides, republicans are not concerned with what others do with their money.'
You see what you want to see. She isn't spending it, the GOP is spending contributors hard earned dollars to paint a pig. That is a cold, hard bean-counter FACT. But you aren't concerned about a FACT, are you? After all, the repubs are not concerned with what they spend others' money on.
It was the Republican donors who raised the issue of the exorbitant money spent on her clothes in the first place. Maybe if they hadn't, it wouldn't have gotten in the news. Put the blame where it belongs!
