'Obama's campaign has been careful about directly criticizing McCain's choice of Palin in the past, focussing (sic) instead on the top of the ticket and leaving the attacks on his running mate to surrogates.'
----------
This is not entirely correct.
The Obama campaign has merely delegated attacks upon Palin to Palin herself.
In August this year, a few weeks before being nominated for vice president, Sarah Palin said in an interview with Philip Gourevitch that Alaska is 'set up, unlike other states in the union, where it's collectively Alaskans own the resources. So we share in the wealth when the development of these resources occurs.'
she couldn't speak without Rove's hand up her butt, moving her lips, she will be reading a speech prepared for her by GOP Central. GOP-C is in such disarray that they couln't find their arse with both hands and a map.
Headline: Palin Promulgates Poorly Prepared Putrid Party Platform.
Well, it's about time!! Obama needs to attack McCain's shady associations as well, starting with the mercenary and convicted felon G. Gordon Liddy.
I have been having REAL, honest-to-God NIGHTMARES about Palin almost every night lately. I have not been sleeping well at all. I have not been this terrified about our country's future since 9-11. I cannot BELIEVE that McCain was so irresponsible when he chose her. She is an absolute joke.
She simply CANNOT be elected or our country will be in grave danger!
During the last 8 years, the wealth HAS been redistributed, as is well documented by many reports. That makes the Republican Party the 'Redistributors.' What Obama wants to do is undo their redistribution...and the Republicans simply can't stand that. McCain/Palin have deployed the dirtiest politics that I've seen in some time. Every statement they make is a gross distortion. I am so sorry for the people who can't see through their lies.
obama isn't qualified to be president. we don't want nor need your Marxist government obama. take a walk with terdy kennedy. Vote no no ried peloski obama in Nov
One of the above posters is correct. the Republicans have spent the majority of the last 8 years putting Government money in the pockets of Private big business and now as one of their last big ticket items has been to take public money to pay private debt. Talk about spreading the wealth
'obama isn't qualified to be president. we don't want nor need your Marxist government obama. take a walk with terdy kennedy. Vote no no ried peloski obama in Nov'
Jake, you just might be the most ignorant individual I have ever encountered. Obama a Marxist?!? Here's a hint: go out, purchase a dictionary and don't use words until you have a FULL understanding of their meaning. Another one: don't be blindsided by pointless social issues and closeted racism. BOTH McCain and Palin have supported what could be termed as 'socialist' approaches to economic issues, if you read you would know that. Taxation IS a redistribution of the wealth. Get a new desperate argument, you are giving stupid a bad name.
I am amazed at the bubble GOP supporters have climbed into. Palin has certainly generated excitement and should get credit for bringing out voters that might have otherwise stayed at home, (both for and against), but she is not a viable candidate. Republicans....you had choices for candidates. You had better get your act together before our country ends up with a 1 party system. Doubt me? Comment back on Nov 5. By the way, I am not a Democrat
After increasing the national debt by 1/3 over the last 8 years all the Republicans are running against big govt. & spending? They were in charge 6 of last 8 years in Congress, and had the Presidency. They've taken us from surplus to debt, from middle class to greatest discrepency in wealth since robber barons, from free market to bailouts & socialized debt of private risk, two wars(one w/o any merit), and from below 1 dollar gas to 4 dollar gas, and on, and on....So why in the world would a sane voter give those two imbeciles on their ticket a vote? Oh, I see, to destroy what's left of America! No wonder why AlQueda supports McCain!!!
Madam Palin a pentecostal evangelical is nothing but a hypocrite Sunday Christan, that is not only not qualified in every sense of the word, but has proven over and over again, that she lacks everything basic about complexities of the task required to be VIP and with McCain with his four bouts of cancer and one foot in the grave to take over the responsibilities of the Office of the President. Except for brining out her kind of over zealot religious nut cases, she has advanced nothing other then polarize this nation further apart. The women like other conservative republican from Alaska is nothing but unethical and corrupt to the hilt. She guilty of abuse of power and ethics violations as a 18 month Governor of Alaska, where she has allowed her high school educated husband to be one man vigilante, interfering with the Government's business.
The republican'ts have no policies except fear-mongering. Just about everyone who wants to vote for McCain/Palin are doing it out of fear.
Their campaign is based almost exclusively upon the fear factor.
'Don't you know what will happen if.....'
Quite honestly, no we don't know what will happen, and neither do they.
Are we to believe the same neocon politicians who brought us their garbage cans full of lies about why we just had to invade Iraq; instead of sticking to the 9/11 mission of taking out osama bin laden and the taliban/al qaeda terrorists who have now taken over large portions of Afghanistan and Pakistan?
Then there is the labelling of anyone who doesn't believe just like them-
'Socialist, communist, marxist, liberal, most liberal, ultra liberal, traitor, terrorist, muslim, not a real American, not living in real America'....etc. etc. etc.
The level of paranoia preaching to their base, and other fearful persons is astounding. There is nothing reformist, or maverick about all this
negative campaigning. It is status quo for the republican't politics.
Palin really is just Bush / Cheney in a dress. Look at this ignorant woman's stance on the issues, Palin is more in line with the mindset of the failure Bush administration than even McCain is. This is the future of the Republican party? Americans need to realize once and for all, you can put lipstick on a pig, but it's still a pig. The Republican way has failed the United States for decades, it's over and it needs to stay over permanently. Our future, economy, health and security are not some fun game. Do not vote for this very foolish, careless, ignorant woman unless you really hate America. A vote for Palin is a vote for going backwards to the Bush years once again, don't do it, don't let this failed, diseased thinking back into our White House.
If Obama is elected, I would not bet a dime on his chances of surviving
6 months.
It is NOT my wish, I bear him no harm, just a good gut feel - the true betting man`s instinct. He will be a target as soon as he gets the election result. There is just too much violent feeling against him and America is a dangerous place to be if you upset the wrong people.
You are a betting man, Dead man? Well, I bet you lose a lot of money. The lunatic fringe that would attempt such an abhorrent and disgusting act as an assassination on Mr. Obama are small in numbers, and low on intelligence. People, like yourself are tipping your hands with your BS GOP fear tactics. Go back to the 60's and get under your sheet and take your 'good-gut feeling' with you. My America has no room for your sort.
Is this part of the anti-Obama, anti-Deomocrat campaign?
Who are you going to vote for? Anyone of us could be a dead man walking.
'Jake, you just might be the most ignorant individual I have ever encountered.'
What that means is brace yourself: another pompous IDIOT is about to spew.
'Obama a Marxist?!? Here's a hint: go out, purchase a dictionary and don't use words until you have a FULL understanding of their meaning.'
Jake doesn't need to buy anything, he is exactly right.

Marx·ism Listen to the pronunciation of Marxism
Pronunciation:
\ˈmärk-ˌsi-zəm\
Function:
noun
Date:
1887
: the political, economic, and social principles and policies advocated by Marx ; especially : a theory and practice of socialism including the labor theory of value, dialectical materialism, the class struggle, and dictatorship of the proletariat until the establishment of a classless society
'Another one: don't be blindsided by pointless social issues and closeted racism.'
So anyone who doesn't vote for this incompetent child with 143 days in the senate is a 'racist'... You fools make me sick. You are lead around by your nose by your programming.
'BOTH McCain and Palin have supported what could be termed as 'socialist' approaches to economic issues,'
They don't want to nationalize entire industries like your obamamessiah does. they do not want to create a nanny state. You may need someone to take care of you, I don't.
'Taxation IS a redistribution of the wealth.'
Not if it is done fairly. Obama is not fair and his supporters are indoctrinated morons.
Statement: 'Taxation IS a redistribution of the wealth.'
Your comment: 'Not if it is done fairly.'
What the bloody blue blazes are you talking about? To you, what is fair redistribution - giving it ALL to your Republican cronies? Aren't you pigs porcine enough? You swine have had your snouts in the public trough for so long that you think that it is a Divine Right. I wasn't going to use words like moron and idiot, but there is no other way to describe your 'thought' processes. You're an IDIOT.
A quiet but public debate has arisen among both Republicans and Democrats that wonders which Obama we might get. Will it be the prudent, moderate, pragmatic, sensible president who will apply non-ideological, centrist policies? Or will it be the Obama who sought out the company of radicals, black racists, faculty-lounge Marxists and studied the methods of Saul Alinsky?
Many hope that it is the sensible centrist who will emerge -- even though it has been his style and cautiously evasive comments, rather than his substance, that have sounded so reasonable and calm. It is that moderate tone that has led some recent Obama supporters to hope that he is just lying about his views and is secretly 'sensible.' Although they do hope he told the truth when he said during the primary that his call for the unilateral rewriting of the North American Free Trade Agreement was merely rhetorical flourish on his part.
But of course, throughout history when dangerous, radical men have offered themselves up for leadership, their moderate supporters have rationalized their early support by hoping that the dangerous man is really a sensible man like them and doesn't believe some of those wild things he has said to his more fervent followers.
But as the campaign clock ticks down to its last days and hours, prudent people have to consider the possibility that beneath that easy manner and calming voice is the pulsating heart of a genuine man of the radical left.
For example, according to Ryan Lizza of the liberal New Republic, Obama's early mentor in the Alinsky method of social agitation was Mike Kruglik, whom Lizza paraphrased as saying: '(Obama) was a natural, the undisputed master of agitation, who could engage a room full of recruiting targets in a rapid-fire Socratic dialogue, nudging them to admit that they were not living up to their own standards. As with the panhandler, he could be aggressive and confrontational. With probing, sometimes personal questions, he would pinpoint the source of pain in their lives, tearing down their egos just enough before dangling a carrot of hope that they could make things better.'
As Kyle-Anne Shiver in the American Thinker explained after quoting those words: 'The agitator's job, according to Alinsky, is first to bring folks to the 'realization' that they are indeed miserable, that their misery is the fault of unresponsive governments or greedy corporations, then help them to bond together to demand what they deserve , and to make such an almighty stink that the dastardly governments and corporations will see imminent 'self-interest' in granting whatever it is that will cause the harassment to cease.
'In these methods, euphemistically labeled 'community organizing,' Obama had a four-year education, which he often says was the best education he ever got anywhere.'
And now we have Obama's genuinely shocking words from a 2001 National Public Radio interview: 'But the Supreme Court never ventured into the issues of redistribution of wealth and more basic issues of political and economic justice in this society. And to that extent, as radical as I think people try to characterize the Warren court, it wasn't that radical.
It didn't break free from the essential constraints that were placed by the Founding Fathers in the Constitution, at least as it's been interpreted, and the Warren court interpreted it in the same way that generally the Constitution is a charter of negative liberties. ...And one of the, I think, tragedies of the civil rights movement was -- because the civil rights movement became so court-focused, I think that there was a tendency to lose track of the political and community organizing and activities on the ground that are able to put together the actual coalitions of power through which you bring about redistributive change. ... The Constitution reflected an enormous blind spot in this culture that carries on until this day. ... The Framers had that same blind spot ... the fundamental flaw of this country.'
Now, just as the left often baselessly throws around the word 'racist,' the right is often extravagant with its charge of Marxism. But those accurate, in context words of Obama must raise in the mind of any reasonable person the suspicion that Obama's heart and soul is dangerously close -- if not fully seized of -- a Marxist (or perhaps Marxist Christian liberation theology) view of human and economic relations.
Consider that these words came from a man who has urged his followers to 'get in the face' of his opponents and has exalted recently -- in an uncharacteristic moment of lack of restraint -- that he has 'a righteous wind' at his back. That is a revealing word, righteous. It suggests that a person's actions have been 'judged' or 'reckoned' as leading a life that is pleasing to God. A verse in the Bible's book of Psalms speaks of one being shielded by God and receiving favor because of righteousness.
We live in dangerous days. The world economy teeters on the edge of the abyss. The exiting American president is a failed thing. An envious world smells a momentarily vulnerable America. The political beneficiary of Republican failure believes our Constitution is fatally flawed. He may be a committed Marxist. And if he held the presidency for four years, it would be the longest stretch that he ever held a full-time job. God save the republic.
From neutral media(yes folks, there is such a thing):
'Senior Republicans are planning to meet at a rural retreat in Virginia within days of the election to discuss how to rebuild a party they expect to be badly beaten in the White House and congressional races.
News of the meeting emerged as a poll in Arizona indicated that John McCain could suffer the embarrassing loss of his home state. The poll put McCain on 46% and Barack Obama on 44%, indicating the Republicans are struggling to hold on in their traditional heartlands.'
'Aren't you pigs porcine enough? You swine have had your snouts in the public trough for so long that you think that it is a Divine Right.'
You are just insane. I have worked hard despite parasites like you riding on me. Look, Ill subsidize your life by paying your food subsidies and your earned income tax credits and your defaulted credit cards and your defaulted mortgages... But when government is talking about taking over 66% of anything I had hoped to leave to someone else, or taxing 'excess income' on investments that I worked and RISKED to create there is no point in doing it anymore. Who the hell is Barack Obama to tell anyone what heir income should be?
The top 50% pay 96.03% of the tax in this country. The Top 20% Pay 80% of Taxes... You are gong to create a situation where people are going to say the hell with it and move their money to the Cayman islands and their companies to China. Then you will be SOL because you are too lazy/stupid to do it yourself. Even if that isn't the case you are going to get tired of spinning your wheels so government can tell you how to spend what you have earned.
'I wasn't going to use words like moron and idiot, but there is no other way to describe your 'thought' processes. You're an IDIOT.''
So when it is demonstrated that you are WRONG with a literal definition of the word all you can do is stomp your feet and call other people names. Typical, no wonder you want a nanny state to take care of you: you are a big baby.
Statement: 'Taxation IS a redistribution of the wealth.'
Your comment: 'Not if it is done fairly.'
To you, what is fair redistribution - giving it ALL to your Republican cronies?
'From neutral media(yes folks, there is such a thing):'
FROM THE GUARDIAN!!!!! YOU THINK THE GUARDIAN IS 'neutral'!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh my God you are completely divorced from reality! The Guardian is unabashedly leftist. They ADMIT IT. I notice you didn't cite the source... God people like you are pathetic. You only see what you want to see, you get hysterical when anyone disagrees, you censor, redact and lie... yet you consider yourselves open minded and liberal.
You are a bunch of ignorant hypocrites.
'You are gong to create a situation where people are going to say the hell with it and move their money to the Cayman islands and their companies to China.'
Too late idiot. It has already happened. After they used all the tax shelters write-offs and crooked book keeping tricks to avoid paying taxes, the stinking filthy rich have already moved their filthy lucre off-shore. They don't want to pay any taxes to the country that fed, sheltered and nutured them. Traitorous, is it not?
By the way, moron, I have a wife, 3 kids and two jobs and a college education. Jealous? Me? No way. I'm as happy as a clam with the way things are. I don't mind paying taxes - 'Render unto Caesar, the things which is Caesar's.' For it is taxes that pay for roads, education, defense etc. When are you going to get off your morbidly obese arse and get employed?
'You are a bunch of ignorant hypocrites.'
This comes from a Republican't. Enough said.
'To you, what is fair redistribution - giving it ALL to your Republican cronies?'
What's this 'all' Bs?
Want cronies? Look at what the democrats did with countrywide and Fannie and Freddie. That was the epicenter of the financial mess we are in and iut was caused by democratic cronyism.
You are going to tax corporations out of the country and tax small business to where it wont be able to create new jobs. You are going to create a situation where we have legions of unemployed who are dependent on the government. This has been done over and over and it has always ended the same way. I can't believe Americans can't learn from other peoples mistakes.
Tax increases in the face of a declining gdp is just idiotic. Yet that is what Obama proposes. And it isn't just on the 'rich'...(over 250.000) If you have noticed the scale has slid from $250,000 to $200,000 to $150,000. There are estimates that taxes will increase on anyone making over $50,000.
And that wont go to fixing the debt either... That will go to 'democrat cronies'... Like Raynes and Johnson, the CEO's of freddie and Fannie who are Obama financial advisers.
if anything happens to obama then all they have to do is find out who wrote the DEAD MAN WALKING note .shouldn't be hard to find this person with the tech. they have now days.
'Too late idiot. It has already happened.'
No, it hasn't. We have the largest GDP in the world in the USA. Even if it had, idiot, is it better to chase them out completely.
'After they used all the tax shelters write-offs and crooked book keeping tricks to avoid paying taxes,'
Add wealth creation to the topics that you are unqualified to talk about.
'the stinking filthy rich have already moved their filthy lucre off-shore.'
No, but they will. I will too. This 'filthy lucre' that you stupidly pronounce it as is CAPITAL, which is necessary for starting enterprise. You are going to see capital move out of the country to places where it is easier to create wealth with it. Places where Obama and the leeches aren't standing in the way with their hands out.
'They don't want to pay any taxes to the country that fed, sheltered and nutured[sic] them. Traitorous, is it not?'
Paying taxes is one thing, getting soaked for no representation is quite another. That is what MY country was founded on, an opposition totaxation without representation.
'By the way, moron, I have a wife, 3 kids and two jobs and a college education.'
Well then, you are in a great position to be shaken down. (Not that I believe you about the jobs, or that you have any relationships at all)
'I'm as happy as a clam with the way things are.'
You wont be about the way they are GOING TO GO.
'I don't mind paying taxes - 'Render unto Caesar, the things which is Caesar's.''
And watch Caesar piss it all away.
'For it is taxes that pay for roads, education, defense etc.'
LOL. ...For it is taxes that pay for 'youth centers' that have morphed into Alinskyite reeducation camps and needle exchange centers to keep people addicted, and welfare programs designed to keep people dependent on government, and Woodstock museums, and Jeremiah Wright's church that got 15 million and Tony Rezko's Summer home and Franklyn Raynes ski chalet...
'When are you going to get off your morbidly obese arse and get employed?'
When are you going to get some class and a brain?
cuople of days out obama is nervous so he attacks the engine room of the bush -mcain dynasty sarah palin.go sarah give us more money, throw the lollies at us-we will catch them with both hands-thanks sarah-for the exrra money in my pocket and all the new social spending.
Palin is so unbelievable dumb you almost have to feel sorry for her. She does so much double talking and never really says anything!
and even more so. Obama has Robert Rubin on his economic team, the same Robert Rubin who deregulated the derivatives market, to make betting on bad mortgages legal. That after Obama's lifelong quest to give mortgage to people who cannot afford them in the first place. You will see a mortgage and housing disaster like never before.
That is why the corporate media loves Obama - our stupid economy is based on dysfunctional housing and mortgage policies and Obama will make it possible for more high density housing than ever at taxpayers expense of course, including a lot of people making urban wages without being able to afford a home themselves.
It is just more of the same, only more intensified.
Wake up people. This is not a change.
id rather watch palin as president-i agree with the last blog-obama just a darker version of george bush-we love palin,
we want someone sexy in the office like mcain palin-not the same old hoary assholes-weve had in the past.
'No, it hasn't.'
State of denial or outrght ignorance, or stupiditry, or all 3
And watch Caesar piss it all away.
Like bush did? And McCain would?

McCain has been the senates #1 opponent of waste, He has renounced earmarks for years. Again, you are WRONG, provably so.,
'
'When are you going to get some class and a brain?'
When you get off your morbidly obese arse and get employed.'
I have a job. Idiot, and I am very fit. When are you going to grow up and get out of your mommy's basement. When are you going to stop lashing out at the rest of humanity because you are a complete loser? When are you going to hut up because you are invariably WRONG,
Not me darling - whilst the FBI, CIA and all the other funny fellows are looking for me, the bad guy will creep up and BANG, he`s gone.
I am just airing almost a certain probability and it`s not exactly news - read the papers and judge the scenario in America.
EVERY single Presidential assassination since and including poor old Abraham, has been carried out by AN ARMY OF ONE. Excepting JFK, where it was an organised expedition by the Mafia as a 'payback' present largely due to Jacko`s old man`s misdemeanours.
The assassination of almost all other high profile targets has also been done by AN ARMY OF ONE.
With 240 million adults in the US and just as many guns, if we say that a mere 1% are nutters, then that is 2.4 million crazy guys on the loose and it only takes ONE unknown but dedicated psychopath and POP - it`s all over !
Sweet dreams.
'When are you going to hut up because you are invariably WRONG,'
'Hut up?'
You telling me to 'hut up?'
You tag says it ALL:'You are just an idiot, that's all'
Have posters lost their minds in putting these long comments - more like short stories - here? Obama's 1/2 hr. on TV tonight was excellent. What was missing was constant criticism of McCain/Palin which is all their ads and campaign speeches are about. They spout off ridiculous lies and half truths and shoot themselves in the foot over and over talking about something that has no merit whatsoever. McCain is starting to look more like Bush every day with his sickening smirk and constant thumbs up acting childish. He doesn't show leadership or instill a feeling of confidence.
Well spotted and said - YOU have a brain, something that many posters have not. Your point has been made several times before, including by me.
The posters who simply copy and paste enormous screeds from magazines, papers and God knows where, just show their lack of intelligence and education. They are completely incapable of independent thinking or rationale, for the simple reason that they have none.
All they can do to create the illusion that they have graduated past infant school, is to copy other people`s work, mostly from the media. It is rather like cheating during an exam to pass when they should fail.
They are a proverbial parasite on this site, infesting it like maggots on a rotten carcase. Nobody reads their copied crap.
Just ignore them, skip them and read the next REAL comment. They will not go away, but I HOPE they READ this comment and realise the utter futility of their undeveloped brain cells.
'All they can do to create the illusion that they have graduated past infant school,'
Then there are the crude polemics of web trolls like Smiley D.
'They are a proverbial parasite on this site, infesting it like maggots on a rotten carcase.'
Indeed.
To 'unbelievable'
µI checked your facts, then checked your sources.
They all come from ONE unbelievable source only:the GOP smear campaign.
There is only one word that is correctly used in that smear:the word UNBELIEVABLE.
Just a few more days to cope with the smear and mud .
I think one of the topics was energy independence for the USA ...
Why not,but to which purpose ?Making the petrol cheaper ?Logically that must be the only acceptable answer to the question ,don't you think ?
For that is the only advantage for your population, right ?
There is a nice sidekick to it to, catering to pride of the population and 'punishing' those evil oil sheiks in the middle-east and those Saudi's you claim to be the enemies of the USA.
Yet those SAudi's are best buddies with the GOP,the only airplane flying in the USA airspace after the September 44th attacks airlifted the relatives of Obama Bin Laden out of the USA,with express authorization of Rumsfeld,Cheney and Bush. They thought the oil ties were more important than national security, obviously.Unless of course the GOP can provide a better answer than mine (trust me ,they won't )
But that is merely an anecdote to illustrate that the ones whispering in your ears how great your country is,are the same that will values their financial interests above all.
Let's waste no more time on such sidekick and concentrate on the financial and economical implications of oil independence.
First of all,how will it be achieved?Simply by drilling more ?In that case you have not touched the market mechanisms and all that oil will simply be sold to the highest bidder. You'd better believe me when I tell you that if the highest bidder is a foreign client,it will take the blink of an eye before the first oil terminals will be built in Alaska to ship your oil abroad .Will the GOP then draft a bill or a law prohibiting oil export to keep it all inside of the country ?Guess what the oil companies would have to say about that, and guess who would cater for their needs then...did you ?
Reality has it that there is one global market, not a single type of government could or would be able to intervene in that, unless they no longer believe in market economy.
The plans of Palin are nothing more than empty words, certainly an 'oil expert' like Palin would never believe in that,it is only meant to take away the resistance there is to squander your natural resources and the pristine environment for the interest of the oil lobby, not for the benefit of the population.
Prices could never fall more in the first decade.
But what ies even much more important is that it goes against the interest of every single living creature on this planet.
The urgency of fighting climate change is growing every day.
Based on the present situation and the prospects the future of the human species is seriously compromised.
The only answer the GOP has is more drilling and something called 'relying on market mechanisms ' to counter the looming menace .
Insane answer to the urgency.THe poorest will be hit even harder by global warming as the price of food goes through the roof.
Better start studying the reality behind the propaganda from the GOP see the consequences, they are not pretty.
Usually the first word out of McCain's mouth is Obama. I think that is almost good publicity. McCain is still touting old Plumber Joe, and that makes one think he doesn't have much else of value to talk about. He keeps saying he will change things if elected. That is another ridiculous statement which will never hold water with all the years of holding Bush's hand. McCain/Palin - two mavericks we don't need wandering the halls of the White House!
..so many people frightened by a single house wife from Bugtussle, AK?
Are liberals reallt this frightened? Relax, GM willbe broke in one year and the only one's who want tostart feeding your tax money into this giant mistake are the dems. It's in the bag!
Let us take GM as an example of te political road to follow, why not SP4.With McCain giving more tax breaks to the richest, nothing will change,GM might go broke, even more people will lose their jobs, right?
With Obama in charhe, the rich will finally be forced to give back some money they stole, consumer spending will go upwards, more people will be able to buy cars, employment will raise, more people will be able to buy cars, employment goes further up,middle class will profit.
Get it ?
Let us take GM as an example of te political road to follow, why not SP4.With McCain giving more tax breaks to the richest, nothing will change,
sp4 - Yes...let's....
GM might go broke,
sp4 - wouldn't you call that change? Chapter 11 is the best thing, next to a sale of GM, for GM. It will allow reorganization, renegotiantion of the failed labor contracts, and allow for a successful business model to proceed into the future. Most of all, it costs us nothing.
even more people will lose their jobs, right?
sp4 - they will anyway. GM has too many models, too many dealers, and is not competitive. You'd know that if you were in business, and not reading Mike Moore all day. No matter what happens, unless you stack the cars in a junkyard, downsizing is coming. Unlike you, I just choose not to feed it.
With Obama in charhe, the rich will finally be forced to give back some money they stole, consumer spending will go upwards,
sp4 - really...like the stimulus check? How'd that work out, Tonny? Where was the propserity from that...and unfunded giveback? We're running a dficit and you want to mete out cash? oh god, we're rich!
more people will be able to buy cars,
sp4 - what makes you think they'll buy a car witrh that money, and if so, what makes you think it will be a GM model??? Typical libnazi arrogance, believing they know the mind of the consumer....
employment will raise,
sp4 - employment hit historical highs WITH FREE markets Tonny, not governement handouts. We've already proven that 10 times over Tonny, and just look at Europe. Go back and study the Carter years for the Doctorate on how to f--k up an economy...deja vu...
more people will be able to buy cars,
sp4 see above..still you do not get it.
employment goes further up,middle class will profit.
sp4 - Yes, proven by the middle class with 10% unemployment in European socialist democracies, if you even dare call them that.
Get it ?
sp4 - No, of course you do not. Read Adam Smith, not Mike Moore.
'..so many people frightened by a single house wife from Bugtussle, AK?'
There is no Bugtussle in AK.
There is a Bugtussle in OK.
Nobody is afraid of your imaginary friend from an imaginary place.
However, if you are referring to the Tundra Tart, even then you are still wrong. Nobody is afraid of her, she can't string two words together without a script from her handlers. People are concerned about what the Bimbo in a Bouffant, the Moose guttin', Trapline Trollop, No-Brain would do TO the country.
..for liberal tolernace.
Lower taxes? Wouldn't that put money in the pockets of those same americans who need it, too? Wouldn't they then be able to buy that car, and I'd agree, not an american car?
Why do we even tax the poor? Why do they pay hidden food, fuel, property, sales and other taxes? I hear we need to redistribute wealth, how about taking the poor's hidden tax bill, on energy, onphone service, and all the othet hidden taxes, federal, state and local?
Americans bitch about the rich, while that same group taxes the crap out of the poor with their hidden taxes. Want to tax the rich, be my guest. Just remember all of the one's who start businesses like the one I work for and that they will just shelter income if they are taxed unfairly.
Why not tell the car companies they can have a no-tax period for 10 years, and get them to get financing that way? How about allowing them tax free debt for the next 10 years, state and local? How about the states ponying up the funds to save their own, local jobs? We did it where I live.
You want to help the auto worker? Do that by cutting his hidden taxes. Plus, it will help every other person too.
Economics has never been McCain's strong point, and he admitted to is.
Do we want to take a chance with him, not to mention the sidekick that was hung around his neck? If we have a bomb-happy (remember 'bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb Iran') war monger on our hands, what happens to the worsening economy while he is engaged in GI Joe tactics as his priority?
After Tuesday next week we can wake up and say:
See you McCain/Palin
See you Stevens
See you Schaffer
See you O'Donnell
See you Beatty
See you Coleman
See you Dole
See you Sununu
See you Gilmore
And life can go back to politics that matter. The Christian right wing of this country can take up with their new leader 'Caribou Barbi' and the ultra right wing of this country can take up with their hopefull Romney and go at each other for control of this disfunctional, dishonest, neo-con clap-trap waste of humanity. Good luck and I hope you tear each other apart.
why dont you pull out of iraq next month obama you either are in this war or out of it,and spend on sopcial security
the only reason obama will get in cause he sucks up tp the poor mcain-palin would rather lose big time-than stoop that low-its a pity mcain might not be a calm smooth talker-but that morbidly obese idiot called obama is a big pathetic pussy holding up proudly his white flag in iraq.cmon mcain make us a nanny state.it looks like obama win by 51percent.
'that morbidly obese idiot called obama'
'morbidly obese idiot'
Do you have ANY idea of the meaning of those words?
I'm sure that you know what an idiot is, for you are intimitely familiar with it. That's big words talk for you ARE an idiot. As to the other two words, it is painfully obvious that you have no clue whatsoever. You read them somewhere, thought they sounded highfalutin and decided to bandy them around. The only thing that is morbidly obese around here is the tumor in your head.
'You read them somewhere, thought they sounded highfalutin and decided to bandy them around. '
In this case: pot/kettle.
'And life can go back to politics that matter.'
No, a depression. That's all. All your daddies money will be spread out among the crack heads and the parasites.
'No, a depression. That's all. All your daddies money will be spread out among the crack heads and the parasites.'
No idiot we are already in one thanks to 'trickle down'---it just did not trickle down.
Thanks for the concern, but my 'daddy's' money is safe, but I hope you loose all of yours, all $2.98.
that morbodly obese obama would rather show the white flag in iraq-let them stone woman to death-you scaredy-cat yanks.rememer you were gonna do this -do that after9/11-now its surrender-why dont you stand up and fight like mcain palin said.weve got to beat these islamofascists now.fact;every 2nd day a woman is killed by her husband or brother-tax cuts and time for a change mean crap when we have subnormal dogs in iraq that need exterminating-before they invade our steets, but obama will win with51per centof the vote-ha ha america that great nation-yeh right, your standing in the worldis pathetic.
give it to the poor palin-weve had enough of decdes and decades of weapon buildingand space shuttles give us a nanny state palin-obama is a scrooge we want a handout like you did in alaska.theres no depression-all those rich bankers with there golden parachutesand joe the plumbers-why focus on those parasites, obama will win though by 51per cent
The intellectual level of the people posting here is pathetic - do they really think anyone is interested in their drivel when they show time after time that they are not sufficiently educated to even spell correctly, use appropriate punctuation or know when to use capitals -
Just a few errors on the just the page above -
weve (we've)
theres (There's)
there (their) golden parachutes
morbodly (morbidly)
rememer (remember)
steets (streets)
loose (lose)
intimitely (intimately)
daddies (daddy's) - unless of course you have more than one daddy - which won't surprise me in the least
These are without mentioning the lack of capitals on proper nouns, the poor punctuation and the inability to separate words with spaces.
A reasonably educated eight year old child wouldn't make this level of mistakes.

No, we are in one because of these idiots, the ones you want to give complete control to:

'Thanks for the concern, but my 'daddy's' money is safe,'
Like you know who your father is.
'but I hope you loose all of yours,'
I am mostly out of the stock market, because there wont be much point in being in it If Obama wins. If McCain gets in I am ready to go on a buying spree.
That stinking cod-faced lump of rot from AK, can make as much noise as she wants, Obama will sweep HER and that old man who sponsored her right back into the fish slop tank, where they will match the smell.
Obama may not see 12 months of his beloved Presidency, but at least if he makes it past voting day, he will put the dreadful Republican circus out of business by a very BIG margin.
RIP REPS.
From McCain's campaign team:
I’m going to let you in on a few secrets here, and this is not because I enjoy the gossip or the attention directed my way. I’m doing this because I doubt much of you know the true weaknesses of McCain. Another reason for my doing this is that I am lost faith in this campaign, and feel that this choice has been forced on many people in this country. Put simply, you are being manipulated. That was and is our job – to manipulate you (the electorate) and the media (we already had them months ago). Our goal is to create chaos with the other side, not hope. I’ve come to the realization (as the campaign already has) that if this comes to the issues, John McCain doesn’t have a chance. His only talent is to foster disorganization, chaos, despair, and a sense of inevitability among the Republicans. It has worked up until now. Joe the Plumber had to save his ass on the issues again, and this scares us more than anything. Being in a position to know these things, I will rate what the McCain campaign already knows are their weak links from the most important on down.
1 – Palin voters. Internal polling suggests that at best, we are taking 70-75% of these voters. Other estimates are as low as 60% in some areas . My biggest problem with this campaign’s strategy was the decision to offer Palin the VP slot. She is all but ready and able to take this on, and campaigned fanatically for it. This selection has brought virtually all of the campaign staff at the edge of a nervous breakdown, and the McCai campaign knows it. Though I have no way of knowing this for certain, and I do admit that I am relying on internal gossip, Senator McCain actually went along the advice of his top advisors. They wanted him to choose her . In short, he let personal feelings take precedence over what was the most logical thing to do. Palin, by the way, has been a disaster inside the campaign. Everyone cringes whenever she gives an interview, and she creates so many headaches as the campaign has to stay on their toes in order to disseminate information and spin whatever it was she was trying to avoid saying.
2 – Sarah Palin. Do believe what the media is telling you about how horrible a choice she was. Again, our internal polling suggest that though she has had a minimal impact on pulling disaffected Hillary Democrats to McCain, she has done wonders in splitting the base for McCain. Another thing – we were completely taken by surprise with her pick. In my capacity in the research department, I looked into the backgrounds of Leiberman, Romney, Pawlenty and Ridge, and prepared briefs. I don’t mind bragging that we had pretty good stuff on all of them. With Leiberman, the plan was to paint him as an erratic old-timer who didn’t have a clue as to what he was doing (pretty much a clone of McCain). In Romney, we had him pegged as an evil capitalist who cut jobs. Pawlenty was going to get the “Quayle treatment”, or more precisely: a pretty face, with no valid experience. Tom Ridge was going to be used to provide a direct link from McCain to Bush. As you can see, we were quite enamored of all of them. Then the unexpected happened – Sarah Palin. We had no clue as to how to handle her, and bungled it from the start. Though through our misinformation networks, we have successfully taken some of the shine off. But let there be no doubt. She remains a major obstacle. She has singlehanded solidified “soft” Republican support, mobilized the McCain ground game, but has never had appeal to independents and Hillary voters. This is what our internal polling confirms.
3 – Obama’s radical connections. Standards operating procedure has been to cry “smear” whenever one of these has been brought up. We even have a detailed strategy ready to bring Rev. Wright up. Though by themselves they are of minimal worth, taken together, Rev. Wright, Bill Ayers, Father Pfelger, and now, Rashid Khalili, are exactly what the smear campain needs. The more focus on them, the more this election becomes a referendum for Obama. The campaign strategy from the very beginning was to make this election a smear campaign on Obama. Strategists have been banging their head on how unsuccessfully McCain has distanced himself from Bush. This has not worked, and right now the tide is not in his favor. People are taking a new look at Barack Obama, and our experience when this happens tells us this is not good news at all. When they take a look at him, one or more of these names are bound to be brought up. McCain has wisely not harped on this in recent weeks and let voters decide for themselves. This was a trap we set for him, and he never fully took the bait. Senator Obama openly rebuked him for to bringing up Ayers. This was not due to machismo on the part of Obama, but actually due our smear campaign strategy. Though McCain’s reference to Ayers fell flat in the last debate, people in the Obama campaign were actually disappointed that he didn’t follow through on it more and getting into it. Our focus groups found this out: When McCain brings these connections up, voters are turned off to him. They’d rather take this into consideration: focus on your own campaign , and because this does nothappens, our numbers begin to sink.
4 – The Bradley Effect. Don’t believe these polls for a second. I just went over our numbers and found that we have next to no chance in the following states: Missouri, Indiana, North Carolina, Florida, New Hampshire and Nevada. Ohio leans heavily to McCain, but is too close to call it for him. Virginia, Pennsylvania, Colorado, New Mexico and Iowa are the true “toss up states”. The only two of these the campaign feels “confident” in are Iowa and New Mexico. The reason for such polling discrepancy is the Bradley Effect, and this is a subject of much discussion in the campaign. In general, we tend to take a -3 point percentage in allowing for this, and are not comfortable until the polls give us a spread well over this mark. This is why we are still campaigning in Virginia and Pennsylvania! This is why Ohio is such a desperate hope for us! What truly bothers this campaign is the fact that some pollsters get up to an 80% “refuse to respond” result. You can’t possibly include these into the polls. The truth is, people are afraid to let people know who they are voting for. The vast majority of these respondents are no McCain supporters. Obama is the “sensible” choice, and we all know it.
As part of my research duties, I write right wing blogs and websites to get somewhat of a “feel” as to what it is talking to the other side. Much of it is nonsense, but there are some exceptions which give the campaign jitters. A spirited campaign has been made to infiltrate many pro-Obama sites and discredit them,I'm doing this right now by the way. A . Don’t you guys get it? This has been the McCain campaign’s sole strategy from the very beginning! The way he loses is due to a dispirited, disorganized, and demobilized otganisation. This is how it has been for all of his campaigns. What surprises me is that few have fallen for it. You may point to the polls as proof of the inevitability of all of this. If so, you have fallen for the obviousresult of our smear. How did we blew these polls, you might ask? It all starts with the media “buzz” which has been generated over the campaign. Many stories are generated on the desperatel McCain ground game, and how many new voters were registered. None of this happens by coincidence. It is all part of the democratic right to vote process. This makes pollsters change their mixes to reflect these new voters and tilt the mix more towards Democratic voters. What is not mentioned or reported on is not the “under-reported cell phone users or young voters” we hear so much about. What is underreported is you.
I changed my somewhat positive opinion of this campaign during the unfair and racist campaign from Sarah Palin. I will never agree with her on the issues and will probably never vote for her, and I am embarrassed of what has happened. I can’t ignore our own hand in all of this. What I do know is that I will not be voting for Palin this time around. Treat that as you will.
The smear tactics of McCain's campaign did just the opposite for him, and made him look like a fool along with Palin, who did a good job of that to begin with. Then when they pounced on Plumber Joe amid big differences between Palin and McCain, it started to look pathetic. The party is falling apart and now McCain is also going to appear on SNL - good lord, how lame!
The people posting enormous copied matter into these M&C pages must have an IQ of ZERO.
They certainly feel no guilt at abusing this site, which is intended for personal comments NOT as a reproduction platform for mammoth-length copied garble from just about every source and paper in the States.
I would like to suggest to these literary incompetents, that if they are completely unable to compose comments of their own, to get off this site and leave it for others WHO CAN !
go win this war -spend billions on banks -on space shuttles-on handouts -but win this war we dont want another vietnam
