Washington - The north-eastern state of New Hampshire will be carried by Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama, three US television networks projected, based on exit polls and early results reporting.
Republican nominee John McCain had hoped to steal New Hampshire and its 4 electoral votes after the state, known for its independent streak, relaunched his own candidacy in the primaries in January.
The eastern swing state Pennsylvania, with 21 electoral votes earlier went to Obama, US networks ABC and NBC projected.
