Increased risk of terrorist attacks, security chief says
Nov 5, 2008, 22:11 GMT
Washington - There is a higher risk of a terrorist attack in the United States during the transition between the Bush and Obama administrations, the nation's top homeland security chief said Wednesday.
'Any time there's a transition there's a danger or a risk that vulnerability (to terror attacks) will increase because people become distracted,' Homeland Secretary Michael Chertoff said, according to CNN. 'People are leaving; people are coming in and that's a disruptive process for any organization.'
President George W Bush pledged Wednesday to ensure a smooth transition with President-elect Barack Obama's team to ensure there are no disruptions to security and foreign operations.

of Homegrown Insecurity and Paranoia continues to try to justify it's existence by playing the fear card once again. Bush and Cheney are out, it's time to get back to reality.
I hope the first thing the Obama team do is boot out Chertoff.
Warning of threats to law enforcement and those who need to know is one thing but instilling panic in the populace is another.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE can we see the stupid color coded threat level go as well. It may be glitzy to the Fox News viewers, but it's idiotic and serves no REAL purpose.
Our family is really scared not only for a black man being our leader but what the terrorists will do to us when President Bush leaves office. I think Preident Bush should declare an emergency and remain in office until this danger is passed.
