White House lights Bush's final national Christmas tree

Washington - US President George W Bush marked his last Christmas in the White House at the lighting of the national Christmas tree on Thursday.
First Lady Laura Bush and two young daughters of US military servicemen threw a switch to turn on the thousands of lights on the tree, in a tradition that dates back 85 years. In his remarks, Bush paid tribute to military personnel serving in Iraq and Afghanistan, away from their families during the holiday.
The live, 12-metre-high blue spruce, standing on the Ellipse outside the White House, has been lit by every president since the current tree came into use in 1978. It is surrounded by smaller trees representing each of the 50 states plus the US territories.
The crowd was serenaded by Santa Claus and other performers, and Bush joked that the man in the red suit might have to lend him his transportation next year after he leaves office.
'You may know that Laura and I will have a lot of time next year. The problem is we'll be short an airplane. Have you got an extra sleigh?' Bush asked.

At 3.785 litres per US gallon, that is an insignificant 36.5 cents per litre !!!!
The British cost per litre in November was $1.548 !! = 4.25 times higher than your give-away gas. AND we have recently had a 25 cents reduction. You spineless bloody moaners.
The average European price is around $1.4 per litre +/- 13 cents. Diesel can be 10 % higher dependent on the country - in the UK it is $1.78 per litre.
For a nation that uses oil like tap water and selfishly pollutes the entire planet with more fumes than any other nation on earth - the great YOO ESS puffs out CO2 and other poisonous gases at 50% of the entire worlds output.
You are a disgrace to civilised responsible behaviour at a time when we should all try to contain man-made pollution and blind destruction of our environment.

and 'final' is the key word in this article. Thank God, it is finally time to send this Frat Boy back to the state that created him and that for sure deserves him. Their lost son coming home---'finally'.
