Kennedy daughter eyes Clinton's senate seat

Dec 7, 2008, 3:46 GMT

Washington - Caroline Kennedy, the daughter of the slain president whose public persona rose during this election year, was eyeing Hillary Clinton's Senate seat, the New York Times reported Saturday.

Clinton has been nominated by president-elect Barack Obama as his secretary of state, and if approved by the Senate, she will have to vacate her New York Senate seat.

Kennedy, whose father John F Kennedy was killed by an assassin in 1963, was a major supporter of Obama and played a surprisingly public role in his election.

The 51-year-old lawyer has kept a low public profile through the many years since her father's death, and through the years her mother, Jacqueline, who died in 1994, suffered cancer.

But she is surrounded by the mythic aura of the popular and powerful Kennedy family, and her endorsement of Obama early on gave him a strong boost.

The Times quoted Caroline's cousin, Robert F Kennedy Junior, as saying he believed 'that she is considering it.'

'A lot of people the last couple of weeks have urged her to do it,' he was quoted as saying.

The New York Governor David A Paterson, who would choose a replacement for Clinton until the next election, confirmed Friday that Kennedy had called him to discuss the position, the Times reported.

Its time to lay the Kennedy legacy thing to rest. JFK was the only one of the bunch that was conservative although the left loves to cuddle up to his image and use him. He in no way represents what the Democratic party has become in any way, shape or form. Caroline is just like her uncle Teddy, a left leaning socialist.

AD INFINITUM ? IS`NT ENOUGH - ENOUGH ?Dec 7th, 2008 - 15:19:49

On and on and on it goes.
One Kennedy after another, like shit in a sewage pipe.

Whenever will it stop, this trail of Kennedy`s ?

May God forgive those puritanical cretins who voted in Prohibition, for allowing it to create a rich criminal family who for some insane reason have dominated the US scene ever since with their slimy presence.

Crime does`nt pay ? What a joke.

The only consolation is that one after another, these vile scumbags have been eliminated, either by nature, magnificent individualists or self inflicted wounds, like flying aircraft into the night sky when not qualified to fly a kite.

Most of the Kennedys have turned their lives into serving the public, through political offices or charitable organizations, and they are to be commended.

The point @DAve is because you are not smart enough to figure it out is that they use his name like he would have been there right beside them which is just not true. His politics are 180 degrees from his daughter and his brother. So my point is quit using his name because he is not and never was one of you! These people are not public servants they are socialists with an agenda, Central Government to control you and I at all levels of our lives and that is NOT America. Now if you like those politics there are many countries across the pond that would love to have you.

that's because they are a bunch of inbred cretins unfit for careers that require actual skills or hard work...they 'achieve' via the 'old boy' network
