Washington - Step by step into the White House: After returning early Friday to Chicago from vacationing in Hawaii, president-elect Barack Obama and his family are moving this weekend to Washington.

With school opening Monday for daughters Malia, 10, and Sasha, 7, the Obamas are to take up temporary residence at the prestigious Hay Adams Hotel on Sunday, NBC broadcaster reported.

Obama is to start consulting Monday with Congress on an estimated 775-billion-dollar emergency economic stimulus programme he hopes to sign into law upon his inauguration January 20.

The luxury 19th-century hotel faces the White House from the other end of Lafayette Square, and is named after two of its most famous residents: John Hay, the one-time private assistant to president Abraham Lincoln, and Henry Adams, author and descendant of two of the country's early 19th century presidents - John Adams and John Quincy Adams.

Obama had apparently inquired about moving into the official White House guest house, Blair House, a bit earlier than the usual January 15 date for incoming presidents. But the White House said the residence had been booked for some time for those dates.

As a senator since 2004, Obama had only kept a small apartment in Washington that would not have accommodated wife Michelle and the children, who stayed in their Chicago home for the past four years.

Malia and Sasha will attend the exclusive Sidwell Friends, a Quaker school, where Chelsea Clinton, daughter of former president Bill Clinton and secretary-of-state designate Hillary Clinton, went during her father's years in the White House.

So far it appears that one power lusting moron is moving out simply to be replaced by another power lusting moron.

Except for perhaps the Iraq war, Obama's proposals are a remake of previous administration's washouts.

What he says lacks vision and I doubt he will lead the U.S. into anything but more of the same.

Mediocracy.

I'm sure you'll want to move out of this rotten country any time now. That is....if you actually live in the U.S.!

Our ancestors settled this nation and lived in sod huts. I think we can handle one Harvard educated neophyte. Clint Eastwood refers to this as the pussy generation.

The International Community!!!!Jan 3rd, 2009 - 23:33:24

What needs to happen before America does more damage to the world militarily or economically is for it to be brought under international control.

After that the United States needs to be broken up since it has become a danger to the planet.

It is still the largest polluter on earth. YES far outdoing CHINA on a per capita basis.

It attacks smaller countries at will: Grenada, Lybia, Panama, Yugoslavia, Iraq, Afghanistan, and that is just in the last 20 years.

It has used ABC weapons: two Atomic bombs on Japan, Anthrax during the Korean war, and 'Agent Orange' and Napalm bombs in Vietnam.

It is the source of the worst financial crisis in the century and it was due to its faulty economic model of excess borrowing and no savings for the sole reason so that its people can selfishly live in excess while others go hungry.

To this day it attacks countries it proclaims are its 'allies' such as Pakistan with missile and unmanned drone strikes.

It refuses to abide by International Laws and it coerces smaller countries to sign agreements not to have American citizens turned over to the International Criminal Court which it doesn't want to cooperate with.

America is a failed state, a rogue state, a bully who forces its will on smaller countries, a state where its people in congress and senate are soooooo corrupt they are in bed with their lobbyists who push economic and political interests.

Anybody in America can be bought, YES, its THAT corrupt!

For all the above reasons it is in the world's BEST interest to 'rain' in this rogue nation and bring it under international control.

And than to dis-arm and dis-mantle it.

Elevating the U.S. to a better position in the world again is just another thing on the long list of things this president has inherited that needs to be rectified from Bush's failed terms.
