President Obama to name Republican senator to Commerce post
Feb 3, 2009, 3:54 GMT
Washington - US President Barack Obama was expected to name his final cabinet member later Tuesday, nominating New Hampshire Senator Judd Gregg to be commerce secretary.
Gregg, a member of the opposition Republican Party, would cross the aisle to join the cabinet of the newly inaugurated Democratic president, the Washington Post reported on its website late Monday.
Obama's first choice to head the Commerce Department, New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson, a Democrat, dropped out last month over an investigation into allegations of politicized state government contracting practices.

Shucks, I was hoping he would name an independent to the post, who was a moderate muslim, and not a Senator.
