Reports: Multiple shootings in New York state (1st Lead)

Washington - A number of people were shot and possibly dead in a mass shooting Friday in Binghamton, New York, US broadcasters reported.
Earlier stories reported multiple deaths, but there was no confirmation, CNN reported.
The shooter was still holding dozens of people hostage at the American Civic Association Building, a building that provides immigration and refugee services in the small town in upstate New York.
Heavily armed police surrounded the building, according to broadcast footage on CNN and Fox News.
WBNG, a local Binghamton broadcaster, cited police scanner reports as saying there were 41 hostages, and up to four people shot, according to its website.
