Typical socialist dribble. Never make the user responsibile for anything. It;s always the big bad business guys fault. It is a know fact that the majority of credit card holders in the country abuse them and are in hock over the eyeballs because they drool over the latest new pience of junk out there on the market which they relaly cannot aford to pay cash for. So hey its 25 a month here, 50 a month there and first thing you know thousands and thousands of dollars of debt. Never mind the print on the contract which the dumb asses never read or maybe its they don't know how to read it. In any case they buy anyway regardless of the consequences because there are none. If you can't pay cash for it you have no busniess buying it.
a typical GOP drooler, spewing drivel and thinking it's profound.
And you are a typical name calling marxist who does not have the brains to argue truth. You are also judgmental since you call me a GOPer yet you know not what my affiliation is. It happens to be Independant. I'll get into a little name calling here myself-sphincter face.
To Dave is:
Dave is right. People already have protection. Its called a contract. If they don't like the terms don't buy it. Read it before you buy. I read the terms on every card I have ever had. If I don't like them I tear up the offer or card. Maybe you are one of those who are over their heads in crap debt and now you want mother goverment to give you some more milk or are you too dumb to read and understand the contract.
' a name calling Marxist.' Oh, boo hoo, you've gone and hurt my feelings. NOT. I am not a Marxistn any more than you are intelligent. As for the rest of your childish little rant, go roll on the floor, kicking your legs in the air. Hold your breath until you're blue in the face. Sod off, you soppy little wanker.
Hw could pass for SP4 and a half.
Just showing your typical stupidity. No argument on facts. Just name calling, playground talk. You never got out of kindergarten. You are still a little punk and probably always wil. You'll never get anywhere in life either sucking the the government tit with dirty diapers. I think you need a change.
showing nothing but his own stupidity. By the way, Davie baby, it is YOU who started the name calling. Therefore the rest of your infantile diatribe is appropriately aimed at yourself, right, sphinter face?
There are valid arguments on both sides. Ultimately it comes down to how much you want and expect your government to protect you from the consequenses of your own actions. Of course credit card providers are guilty of sharp practice. If you pay the whole balance off every month they run at a loss. Why do you think they keep increasing your credit limit if you do? Late payment fees and interest rate hikes are another trick to pick our pockets. Most statements will specify a payment date, then, in very small writing it will say something like 'allow four working days..' It is also irritating when the interest rate on existing debt goes up.
So what? No one forced anybody to apply for the card. Like booze and fast cars, these things are designed for grown-ups. Would you return to prohibition because some people become alcoholics?
Be very, very careful about how much you allow your government to interfere in private commercial or personal matters. You will find useless, costly regulatory bodies and advisory organisations springing up like mushrooms and preaching at you about everything under the sun.
It's personal choice. Make your decisions and live with 'em. I, who smoke and booze, once complained about my life insurance premiums to a colleague who eats salad and works-out. 'You're a bigger actuarial risk than me so you should pay more' he replied smugly. He was probably right, but still did not like it when I said that in that case, when we both come to cash our pension funds in, he should get a smaller annuity than me for the same reason.
the reasoned voice of Truebrit enters the scene with an intelligent post.
This president is a joke. No country on earth takes America seriously now.
Boy now aren't you original. You're still a punk and loser. You probably are on the goverment dole. Can't get a good job. Go back to flipping burgers moron.
I don't call him a Jiggy Boo...I call him Barak the Magic Negro....god, they cannot even get ME right.
Now run along to Deer Lodge.
Most of us can tell the difference regardless of the crap you usually post, but we CAN tell the difference.
There is a contradiction in Dave's typical GOP point of view.If he acknowledges that some people are indeed incapable of controlling their expenses and build up debts that they will not be able to pay off, what should stop lawmakers from protecting these people against their own lack of judgement .Merely pointing out that they should be punished by allowing the credit card companies to extract maximum profit from these deficiencies only acknowledges that fact without offering any other solution than giving those credit card companies the opportunity to even increase the burden and helping them even deeper into trouble .
Of course the reason why credit card companies refuse to be regulated is because it allows them to profit from this weakness. All the other arguments advanced are nothing but window dressing .
