Here's the truth. The CalWORKs program was developed to duplicate the poor work of Employment & Training counseling already done by the State's Eligibility Workers. It is a joke and another case of California flushing tax dollars down a toilet on behalf of an unneeded and redundant program.
Healthy Families is another such program that actually recruits people to sign on for government-funded health care. Basically it's the same care that is already being provided by your tax dollars paid into MediCal. This boondoggle is yet another example of unions and Democrat politicians creating a program that does little other than create Democrat voters.
And, oh gosh, illegal immigrants will lose their medical care. Can anyone spell P-R-O-P-O-S-I-T-I-O-N-1-8-7?

Great points Nickie. And how about education for illegal aliens. Estimates are there are at least 400,000 ilegal aliens being educated in California schools. Not citizen children of illegals whom I think should not be paid for either but actual illegal children. The state spent around $8500 per pupil in 07/08 and slightly more now. So lets round it of to $9000. Do the math I get $3 Billion six hundred million annually. What if there's more. Add to that the children of illegals who were born here who shouldn't have been and the numbers are staggering. The welfare, heathcare, food stamps. You have got a good chunck of this budget shortfall placed right on the shoulders of illegal aliens and those are the facts so yes we can blame them and no I'm not a racist, I'm hispanic myself. Until they start cutting off these people and sending them packing these hypocritic socialist clowns and crooks in Sacramento are not serious yet about balancing this budget.

I live in CA my husband and I both work very hard to make sure we dont need Government help but at the end of the day we NEED healthy families so our children can get health care. If its cute we will be SOL and homeless.
