Washington sniper set to be executed in November

Washington - An execution date has been set for the sniper who terrorized suburban Washington in 2002, a judge in Virginia said Wednesday.
John Allen Muhammad is to be executed on November 20, but may still appeal to the US Supreme Court and Virginia Governor Tim Kaine for a stay.
For three weeks in 2002, he along with 16-year-old accomplice Lee Boyd Malvo shot and killed 10 people and wounded six others in a series of random attacks in and around Washington. Before they began there Washington killing spree, the men also killed six people in Alabama and Louisiana.
Muhammad has been awaiting execution since 2004. Malvo is serving a life sentence.
