Conservative host Limbaugh says nothing wrong after chest pains
Jan 2, 2010, 0:36 GMT
Washington - Rush Limbaugh, the popular conservative commentator and fiery critic of President Barack Obama, said Friday that doctors found nothing wrong with him after he was hospitalized in Hawaii.
Limbaugh, 58, said he was brought to a Honolulu hospital Wednesday for pain in his chest 'like nothing I'd ever experienced before,' but tests did not reveal any problems and he was due to be released later Friday.
'The pain was real and they don't know what caused it,' Limbaugh said in broadcast remarks from the hospital.
Limbaugh has at least 20 million regular listeners and recently signed an eight-year 400-million-dollar radio syndication deal. A sharp-tongued critic of leftist policies, Limbaugh wished Obama 'failure' at the start of his presidency earlier this year.
Ever the commentator, Limbaugh launched a thinly-veiled attack on Obama's planned health care overhaul by praising the treatment he received at the Honolulu hospital.
'Based on what happened to me here, I think there is nothing wrong with the American health care system,' he said.
Ironically, Obama is also in Hawaii, spending his week-long Christmas vacation in the state he once called home.
