Jan 8, 2010, 4:54 GMT
Washington - A man on a shooting rampage at a factory in the central US city of St Louis, Missouri, killed three co-workers and wounded five before taking his own life, police said late Thursday.
The gunman, identified as Timothy Hendron, 51, of a nearby suburb opened fire Thursday at the ABB Inc plant where he worked, the St Louis Post- Dispatch reported on its website, citing police.
After confusion for several hours about the fate of the gunman, St Louis Police Chief Dan Isom said two of the victims were found dead in the parking lot with the bodies of a third victim and the suspect found inside the building.
'We are very confident that this is the shooter,' Isom said.
The gunman went to the factory armed with a pistol, an assault rifle and a shotgun.
