Paris-Atlanta flight diverted over passenger 'disturbance'
Apr 28, 2010, 4:15 GMT
Washington - A US airliner was diverted from its scheduled destination Tuesday after a passenger caused what officials described as a 'disturbance' and had to be secured by a federal air marshal.
The Transportation Security Administration said it was 'monitoring an incident' that was reported on board Delta 273, which had taken off from Paris' Charles de Gaulle International Airport and was bound for Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
'Out of an abundance of caution,' the plane was ordered to land in Bangor, Maine, in the north-east corner of the United States. The flight landed safely, and the disruptive passenger was being interviewed by law enforcement agents.
