Times Square evacuated again: suspicious package
May 7, 2010, 20:20 GMT
New York - Less than a week after a failed terrorist attack on New York Times Square, police Friday evacuated part of the fabled and normally crowded square after an abandoned package was found.
CNN reported that the square was shut down from 44th to 47th street along Broadway, the central artery through Tiems Square.
On Saturday, police disarmed a home-made car bomb after tradespeople saw smoke coming out of the abandoned vehicle. The suspect, a US citizen born in Pakistan, was arrested two days later as he attempted to leave the country.
