UN declares access to clean water a human right
Jul 28, 2010, 17:56 GMT
New York - The United Nations on Wednesday declared access to clean water a human right.
The 192-nation body approved a resolution put forward by Bolivia and signed by 33 other states to add access to water to its human rights declaration.
The decision has no legal standing, but inclusion in the UN's declaration on human rights is seen as an important political step for the issue.
