Man survives 40-storey fall in New York
Sep 1, 2010, 23:17 GMT
New York - A 22-year-old man fell from the rooftop of a 40-storey building in New York City and survived with critical injuries, including broken legs, news reports said Wednesday.
Thomas Margill landed on a parked car through the back seat window. The ownerof the Doge Charger attributed the man's survival to the rosary hanging inside.
Police, citing witnesses, said Margill apparently jumped from the rooftop on Tuesday and fell on the car, which saved his life. Police were investigating.
Margill is at least the second New Yorker in recent years who survived this kind of steep plunge from the city's skyscrapers. In 2007, window washer Alcides Moreno plunged 47 storeys and recovered from the severe injuries.
