Fourth incident of shots fired at US military installation
Oct 29, 2010, 17:14 GMT
Washington - An unknown gunman has again fired shots at a military museum in Virginia, the fourth shooting incident at a military installation in less than two weeks, federal police said Friday.
The overnight shooting marked the second time the Marine Corps Museum Memorial in Quantico, Virginia, was targeted. Shots were first fired at the museum outside the US capital Washington on October 17.
In between, shots from the same high-powered rifle were fired at the US Pentagon and at a Marine Corps recruiting centre in Chantilly, Virginia. There have been no injuries reported in any of the incidents.
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) said it was operating under the assumption that the fourth shooting overnight to Friday was related to the first three incidents.
'We believe the suspect has a grievance surrounding the US Marine Corps,' said FBI special agent John Perrin in a news conference.
