Al-Qaeda leader threatens US in video message
Oct 12, 2011, 3:39 GMT
Washington - The leader of the terrorist group al-Qaeda has released a video calling on his supporters not to give any respite to the United States, a monitoring group said.
The 13-minute address by Ayman al-Zawahiri posted on several extremist websites appeared to have been recorded in August or September, the SITE Intelligence Group said in an online report late Tuesday.
In the recording, al-Zawahiri, 60, spoke about continuing to work towards the 'defeat of the US,' said SITE, which monitors the online activity of extremist groups.
The Egyptian-born surgeon has led al-Qaeda since June after the group's founder, Osama bin Laden, was killed by US special forces in Pakistan on May 2.
