Lady Gaga to star in New Year's Eve party in Times Square

New York - Lady Gaga has been chosen to bring in the New Year at Times Square, following in the footsteps of former President Bill Clinton and boxing great Muhammad Ali by launching the crystal ball that counts down the last minute of the year.
'I'm so looking forward to performing on NYE + dropping the Ball with Mayor Bloomberg!,' the star, 25 tweeted. 'What an honour as a New Yorker!'
Over 1 million people usually attend the Times Square event which this year will also include an MTV party featuring the likes of Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez and J Cole.
