Huntsman drops out of race for US presidency
Jan 16, 2012, 16:33 GMT
Washington/Berlin - Former diplomat and state governor Jon Huntsman confirmed Monday he was pulling out of the race to be the Republican candidate in this year's US presidential election.
Confirming that he was endorsing Mitt Romney, Huntsman told a press conference that the race 'has degenerated into an onslaught of negative and personal attacks.'
Last week, Huntsman came third in the New Hampshire primary - the state where he had concentrated most of his efforts - behind Romney and Ron Paul.
