Washington - Texas Governor Rick Perry was on Thursday set to drop out of the race for the Republican presidential nomination, US broadcaster CNN reported quoting unnamed sources.
The 51-year-old would not take part in a television debate planned for Thursday evening, CNN said.
That would leave just four left in the race, the frontrunner being Mitt Romney, a former Massachusetts governor and multi-millionaire businessman.
