Madonna stalker escapes from mental hospital

Los Angeles - A man jailed for stalking Madonna and described as psychotic and violent has escaped from a mental hospital, police in Los Angeles said Friday.
Robert Dewey Hoskins, 54, was convicted of stalking and threatening Madonna in 1996 and served a ten year prison sentence.
He was committed to the Metropolitan State Hospital in Los Angeles upon his release following a run-in with police, but walked out of the facility last week, police said.
'Hoskins is highly psychotic when not taking his medication and has very violent tendencies,' Los Angeles police said in a statement.
'The public is being warned to notify police immediately if he is found, and to not engage him on their own,' it continued.
