New York - US actress Susan Sarandon has decided to share her passion for table tennis with pupils in New York, by donating 75,000 dollars for equipment and trainers at the city's state-funded schools, officials announced Wednesday.
The money will allow 27 schools to implement table tennis programmes - on top of 40 existing schemes - according to a statement by the New York branch of the US Education Department.
Sarandon, who won an Oscar for her role in Dead Man Walking, has long been known to have a passion for table tennis and is an associate in a New York table tennis club.
